    Beelink x5II need help.

    Hello. I've got 2 questions.
1st) How can I realize which device do I have so I can download the appropriate firmware (I mean which one of those firmwares here should I download : http://www.bee-link.com/en/article_cat.php?id=22)

2nd) Is it possible to install a linux OS on my device and maybe a dual boot system with linux and android?

    Any help will be appreciated!

if you have the round box then s82. Then if you have 16GB storage then s82_102k4_6330 else with 8GB storage you should load s82_102k4_6210.

No dual boot that I know of but there is certainly devs that boot linux to the console and XBMC on linux (non android).

no-no dude... that's something different. I was talking about round boxes.
This forum is about these :

Don't load the FW here without knowing what you are doing - you might brick it.
Anybody else that can help Doken to right forum?

A a matter of fact ist not even the same CPU. Its a Rockchip RK3188 where as this form handles the Amlogic S802. Completely different... so don't even think of flashing the roms on this forum!

Thanks a lot guys for all your info. I found the original rom that this box was sent to me here : http://www.bee-link.com/en/article.php?id=102 (same site) (Firmware:update_X5II_301j2301_0317 (for X5II v3.0)
For some reason max resolution when watching movies on xbmc is 1280x672. I realized that the reason for the 672 is the android bar at the bottom of the screen, but I can't figure out why it can't play 1080p movies.
On my android settings resolution 1920x1080 is supported and enabled. I guess this is an xbmc issue.

As you say, you have a x5II, why don't you use the x5II FW at the link you wrote?

Because with this firmware the max resolution that my box can get inside xbmc is 1280x672 pixels...

Sorry, a little misunderstanding... the question means, why do you don't use the given download-link at your link not why you need a FW
Maybe you will find an answer at the forum link I give to you (but maybe it is only a real 720p box and not a real 1080p box???)

When I am at my Android Settings I can change the resolution to 1920x1080 (x60 Hz or 50 Hz). But when I am trying to reproduce a video inside of a software like xbmc, then in its settings the maximum resolution that I can get is 1280x672. Now I realize that the 672p (and not the 720p ) is because of the android bar at the bottom of my screen, but I can't understand why I do not have the option to change it to something smaller or bigger.
So I am asking for a custom rom to flash into my box or a linux OS cause I assume (and from what I've read) this box can reproduce Full HD videos.

I guess this is an xbmc issue...

P.S I have already downloaded and installed the Firmware from the download link that you say.

I think you will better discuss these thinks at the link I also post:

Maybe your boy only does a 1080p overlay which means it is in true/real a 720p...
There exist a web page to check it, but I don't remember the link...

                        Remark:
                        1. Integration of the new version of XBMC
                        http://aidymp.weebly.com/latest-news...x5-ii-firmware

Beyond XBMC is a customised version of XBMC which has been tweaked for RK3188 chipsets. I mentioned it in a previous post. It appears that Beelink 'borrowed' it without asking permission of the author! He was quite surprised when he found out!!
So, the only change to fw.. Was beyond-xbmc

Can this be moved to the rk3188 forums?
