thinking about buying a CS918/KR42 Android TV.Does the device play online IPTV in 1080 smoothly/flawlessly with no pic drops?

Hello guys,
so would you recommend a CS918 or KR42 for online IPTV streams in 1080 Full HD?
I have googled and found a youtube link where it is shown that the box can't handle such big video streams.

What would you recommend? I have a paid subscription and the IPTV provider offers also streams in HD.
Basically I'm looking for an Android BOX that can play 1080P streams with no frame drops and preferably with et0 ethernet port.

i won't go for the Tronsmart Vega S89 it cost too much to Import right now.
for this amount of money I would rather get a tablet pc with hdmi output.

That youtube vid is quite old..
Alot has changed in 1 year

With SPMC and the new xbmc v13.. it should play quite good

But.. if you can find link to that vid..( or trailer or iptv app )
I'm willing to give it a try

Looking at addons.. like
Redbull 1080 live streams
Hd-trailer (set to 1080)
The seem to play fine..
Note.. even if the file/link fails to play smooth using xbmc.. you can always use a ext-player like mx-player

I normaly dont play 1080 vids.. mostly hd or 720...

Note.. the youtbe vid.. posted says cs918.. but it has a bluetooth icon ( at the end of vid ) ( so its a T-R42 )
A real cs918.. has no bluetooth

thanks a lot Mitchell. So in terms of flawless 1080P playback which device would you recommend beside the CS918 clones? How is the MINIX Neo 7?

What firmware should I flash If a get a K-R42 for start? Can you recommend one?

looking at my old samsung Galaxy S2 the IPTV streams in 1920x1080 using MX Player don't play smooth the audio is even out of sync. I use https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...oid.iptv&hl=en just app doesn't come with a playlist.

The benefit of 'MINIX Neo 7' is that you know what you get...
So, what does it mean ? There are so many different pcb/motherboards available at the market inside the boxes, that you never can be sure to find a matching and good mod rom AND if I'm correct MINIX don't use the "bad" version of the RK3188...
The "bad" version is the RK3188T ...

I also heard the 3188t is lower clocked.

Short anwser is No

While the device can play 1080p... Sometimes (*when stream/bitrade/codec/file are supported)
-its not flawless
Smooth depends on source/lan/wan/cache and player used

Like oblivion.. It played.. With 2 buffer/cache loading ( start/have-way)
Trying to play any 1080 stream/trailer with more then 2 ch failed
Most Local/hdd 1080 files do play fine*

So.. The device rk3188 is 720p for most media streams

Im using cs918 Stock fw tweaked using rkpatchomatic and rooted using TdSparky/moborobo

Iptv... I used that app before.. To watch Rus ch (m3u8 file)
There is also a xbmc addon.. To load the ch file
-most streams where sd , only 3 hd
It needs a proxy or vpn to work with a good connection ( i used vpn service )

Hearing now that the cs918 and RK42 box doesn't play 1080 streams flawless. There is only the new Tronsmart OCTA core AMLOGIC chip left to consider. [Tronsmart Vega S89 Amlogic S802]
I'll pass it cost to much to import right now. I rather get the tablet Nexus 10 and plug it into my tv.
