Downgrade to older firmware problem

    Downgrade to older firmware problem

    Because the problem with newer fw with 720p, I want to follow the advise to install an older fw: http://pan.baidu.com/s/1dDmqUTb

    But I don't succeed in installing that older fw:

    Can't install this package (Fri april 18) over newer build (Mon may 12)
    E: Error in /Sdcard/EM8-M8 Version-ota-20140418.zip

    I unpacked the rar file and put the three files on the root of the sdcard and followed the 'toothpick" procedure to install. Even I did the OTA procedure with no luck.

    I also formatted the cache and user information with the bootmenu.

    The s82_rom_port_em8 did work very well with 720p! Kernel 33, so i could install. But like others, the 2nd time bootup i also got a black screen.

    Any suggestions?

        I think you also have to prepare the sd card with the bootcardmarker tool (but not sure)...

          make sure files are in Root directory or use different SD Card ... I've installed old firmware like that you shouldn't have any problem...

            That did the trick!! Thank you

            Weird tho, installing same kernel is no problem with fat32 formatted sdcard, but for downgrading you need amlogic formatted sdcard. Anyways, it works now!
