I also.. Have a unit in order-
Bad news: Amlogic recalled all the previous chipsets shipped yesterday because of hardware bugs
(thermal control failure, CPU core malfunction...etc.), so those early bird machines offered by other brands might be suffering from various issues;
Good news: MINIX discovered the problem first;
MINIX is using the new batches which are proven and tested to be OK;
The new batches just arrived this week so won't be available for shipment
until 1st week of June;
Pre-ordering shall start next week;
Actually we have said the 1st batch chipsets from Amlogic got issues much earlier,
and now it has been further proven.
Congratulations to those who have been patient enough to wait for us.
You will be getting a great machine.

My order is shipped since 5/21/2014 (but via Singapore post (Air Mail) because to try to avert customs)...
I'm follow the threads here at the board the last 3-4 weeks really intensive and I don't know what/how I have to think about the information from minix, because only some (maybe <10) devices seams to have problems (~ 5/5 heat/HDMI) but the most most not...
AND the s802H is not the first bulk of the s802

It takes time to put amlogic chip inside a pcb.. then put fw on it.. ectAmlogic recalled all the previous chipsets shipped yesterday
Hopefully.. the bad units have not hit the market (yet)

Today... just now.. i unboxed the unit
On the box it says... quadcore cpu / 8 core gpu / 4k uhd / h.265 hevc
-wierd.. i thought this unit has no h.265 support?

My three boxes arrived today. Firmware was 102k4. I had no trouble updating to the latest firmware on Geekbuying. XBMC is running very smoothly.Yay!!!Comment

Well...
Here is my story..
102k4.. tried xbmc v13rc1 addon hdtrailer.net.. pretty much every 1080p trailer failed ( buffer every 20s / cache full)
Update.. 104k4 easy upgrade using sd
Xbmc v14a1 addon hdtrailer.. pretty much..the same.. cache full
Made a advancedsetting.xml... now the buffer error disapeared.. but a av-stutter appeared..
Then i got a brain storm /settings/storage/cache delete
Now everthing plays smooth

-startup logo halo effect.. video big texure bloks on things horz / halo effect on smoke f1 race (software upscalling)
Will... later try changing screen to 720

Just got mine today too from Geekbuying.... Good times ahead, let me check and make sure it isn't DOA
Edit: not DOA and works great out the box, streamed a few 1080p movies with DTS and it doesn't seem that warm to me. Definitely cooler than my T-R42.
