IS your TV 1090p or 720( Full HD or HD ready)?
if the TV is 720p(HD ready), then you have to connect the device in a ful hd TV and change the resolution to 720p in the setting of the device..

How I already said, if it's HD ready TV, then you have to correct the settings to 720p on the device...
HD ready TVs can not display resolutions higher than 720p ...
So you must find a full HD TV and connect the device to it, and correct the resolution...

Flash Finless 1.7C with the default 720p kernel. That kernel is pretty fast and you don't need anything special (extra cooling, over 2a psu).

Yes you can do that what sleepyguy said, if the device you have is MK808/MK808b...
If not you must find a rom image for you device
