    Sound problem - turned off AV-receiver

    Hi,

    I'm having a sound issue with my Vega s89 device. It is connected to my Onkyo AV-receiver via HDMI and the sound is perfect whenever the receiver is turned on. I can use either my TV speakers or my 5.1 sound system. But whenever I turn off my AV-receiver (HDMI-Passthrough is activated), sound doesn't work anymore.
    It's not like there is no sound - it is a quite annoying constant sound (quite similar to a typical "Transfomer" sound).

    Right now, I'm on finless 1.4. Does anyone else have that issue? Is there a solution?

    Thanks

      I'm a little bit irritated, because I don't know how you connect your TV...
      Is it connected though the A/V-receiver (A/V-receiver-HDMI-out -> HDMI-in-TV) ?
      If yes, I think it's normal, because the A/V-receiver do the downsize to stereo for your TV and at that moment you switch of the A/V-receiver the TV get information (path-though data) which not useful for it???

        my s89 is still in 'processing' stage, so cannot test, but my PS3 connected via HDMI to my Denon amp, and then HDMI to TV also does this ( i still get picture but no sound when amp is off) and i have HDMI passthrough active on amp, try going into s89 settings for sound and see if there is an audio setting to send via HDMI, sorry cant remember the terminology.

        goodluck
