    I have already noticed that CPU temperatures were wrong but I didn't expect this bug.
    Did your cpu temp is contant or not ???

    I apologize for opening this tread, I had use A1 CPU tool to control cpu temp. This apps show me a cpu of 30°C constantly. After switching to https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...yanyan.cputemp I 'm able to detect real CPU temp. around 46°C in low usage and °C after one Antutu Bench run.

      I'm follow the different threads here at the board the last 3-4 weeks really intensive and I don't know what/how I have to think about the information from minix, because only some (maybe <10) devices seams to have problems (~ 5/5 heat/HDMI) but the most most not...

        And the Round units not Square M8! ( we had a review showing how different the design )

        Round boxes sold a lot earlier than Square boxes and Case design has almost No Air Ventilation ...
        As you have mentioned thousands of units sold and 5-10 Faulty units is very normal ...

          Then when you check your cpu temp with a cpu manager you value is increasing just after booting ? Mine still show the same value. I will tell you what is this value when iI will be back at home.

            any Slowdowns or Freezes ??? SW and HW might be incompatible ...

                If you have no problem means there is nothing to worry about...

                I have tried Finless Min. CPU mod 1300mhz minimum CPU frequency ,All 4 CPU active all the time still no overheating issue ...

                Sent an email to Amlogic Regarding to this unofficial announcement well we will see if they are going to confirm this "recall" ...

                    My box has no issue. But I bet some do as you have seen reported by some here. Some got fixed by my CPU patcher and I bet it has to do with hotplug gov vs interactive.
                    As Minix said its some thermal CPU clocking thing.

                    Now my opinion, I doubt AML will replace units unless this is a small amount. Vendor's might do it but they are not going to be happy about it as they have to eat the cost.

                    So bummer to some that got one of these. I hope you are taken care of but I have a feeling it's not going to happen.

                    Bottom line AML should release a tool or something so those units can be identified. If they don't I feel a lot more people will be wanting returns when they don't have an issue.

                    I guess we shall see what the outcome of this is.

                          A couple people reported it did fix their problem. But I cannot say it will fix all! Not enough info or sample size to know that.

                            In The Clear Here

                            No apparent issues with my Square. No excessive heat, spontaneous reboots or screen sparkles etc. Compared to my Ouya, MX 2 and MK908, box dissipates heat evenly and is never hot to the touch.
                            This after running 1080p video for 3-4 hours.
