My plan...if I don't have any fires tonight....is to update all of the Google apps. I will see if that makes a difference. If it does, I can make a new update with kernel 407 included.

    Capt.
Not sure if this helps or not.
I just instlaled this rom w/ 407 kernel.
Was restoring some apps using Titanium Backup.
One of the apps that TiBU is reporting missing, and will allow me to restore is Exchange Services 5.0

I'm on 3.0 with 1608 OC 407 kernel and everything works smoothly. As I mentioned before the only bug I get is when using MX player with HW+ decoder if you try to swipe fast forward/resume it will freeze.. SW decoder works just fine. Also get an Antutu of 20k+. Left my tablet in standby all day yesterday, approximately 8-10 hours, battery drain was only 1%.

I noticed 4.4.3 was announced to be rolling out shortly for the nexus 5 and 7, but isn't a major update. Mainly security and minor bug fixes. Is there any chance of this being cooked for our tabs?

You can download kernel 407 in post #1 and flash it instead of the 406 kernel. Just save it to the RileyROM folder as kernel.img.[/QUOTE]

Hi Randy, I flashed your 3.0 rom and tried both kernels. For some unknown reason it appears to be very unstable. Flickering icons on home screen (NovaLauncher) and buttons unresponsive. The only button working correctly is the 'HOME" button. Thought it might be a hardware issue, so to check I went back to 2.7.1 and the problem went away (so it's not hardware). Just cannot understand it!

Edit. NovaLauncher seems to be the problem. Changed to Apex and all the problems went away.

Same as pipo666, as i use also my tablet for my job, i can't miss to set up an exchange account... Back to 2.7.2... The reason is that the exchange service is missing in that ROM and i was not able to put it back with Titanium backup or by installing it manually ...

    Back to 2.7.2

Switched back to v2.7.2 today. In 3.0 it was not possible for me to setup emailaccounts in standard mail app, to create new appointments in Google calendar and to setup my banking software, in every case connection to servers failed, but in 2.7.2 all of this works fine. The only problem is the missing cursor in many apps, is there a fix?

As stated in post #1, the ROM kit contains kernel 406.

You can download kernel 407 in post #1 and flash it instead of the 406 kernel. Just save it to the RileyROM folder as kernel.img.

    Kernel 407

Is this kernel included on the 3.0 rileyROM? If not, it it easy to add after switching to new 3.0 ROM? Or, is there any chance of it being added as standard (Riley?)as it seems to be the stable one.Excuse my ignorance but still a relative newbie

Many thanks for the new ROM Riley and for your continuous hard work

    Regards

I switched today from kernel #406 to # 407 ..#406 gives me very short browsing time with Dolphin or with stock browser (~1%battery discharge in 2min 30 sec).
Reflashed RR 3.0 with parameter 8 and kernel #407 "kernel_M9Pro3_407_cpu1704-low_gpu600_ddr720" posted in #147 by csock2010 (by the way, thank's for this nice modded kernel) and got these:

Browsing time increased to 3 min. 40 sec/1% battery discharge and tablet is sensitive cooler.
I have one more app with error when opening.. "E-Book", but is not an disaster.
I think we will see in future time another KK release, this was "stable one" from Pipo with older #406 kernel

ART or Dalvik ....what is the vote for the 3.0 Users!
ART was functioning fine with 2.7.1, but now with kernel 407 it keeps reloading each file again when rebooting. So I am thinking togo back to Dalvik
