Minix X8(+H) Support from Finless,TNT,Wasser etc ???

Ok so might be a silly question but I'm sending my Vega S89 back due to the HDMI port dying on me after a week, God forbid me to buy another Tronsmart product after 2 negative experiences....

Anyway , my S89 purchase was heavily influenced on knowing Bob had his hands on one, that kind of support is priceless and I just want some reassurance that the X8 will receive the same development all round, that we've seen in the X7 previously and with the S89/M8 already in such a short space of time...

Although I've had a bad experience with the S802 is it safe to say it's more a problem with the nexteon board itself rather than the chip?!

Given the reputation of Minix, despite recent concerning posts and conflicting opinions regarding the S802 and Amlogic, is it safe to assume the X8 won't have the same HDMI and thermal issues?!!

My guess is no!! But I'm not sure I can resist a new toy, a minix one at that... One thing I know is that Minix do honour there warranty via there resellers, so there's that, but knowing that there will be Finless/TNT/Wasser Roms, and d33 kernels etc is the difference between another impulse buy or another agonizing wait, trailing Freaktab every day for updates... Not that that's likely to ever change! Lol

I'm also wondering if I should get the X8 as my second machine but it seems to me that there are more roms and options if I stick with tronsmart.

Could be my imagination but the beelink/tronsmart forums have more stickies

I have been doing just about as many ROMs for the X8 as the other boxes! Minix and Beelink are well supported here.

Wanted to warn you against a MINIX product. I've owned a variety of android boxes pivos, ouya, mk808 and MINIX x7. The MINIX x7 was the most expensive but far from the best. The only one i disliked more was the pivos.Minix's have terrible firmware and our only compatible with their own over priced MINIX air mouses. There are lots of custome firmwares but none of them work that well. The box is also comically large. Pictures don't do it justice for how big it is. It the size of 4 rokus put together. I would buy a ouya and install cyanogen mod 11 on it. It offers better xbmc playback, no air mouse incompatibility problems, smaller size and fully working pass through audio. You'll also size yourself some money with the ouya.
