CS968 newbie setup

Hi guys,
Very new to all this, just bought a CS968 with android 4.4.
Want to set up XBMC to be able to watch movies over home network as well as stream online content (for free of course).
Was thinking of using beyond XBMC.
Is it this simple or are there other things I am missing here
Would also like to control with my iphone and ipad.
Any advise will be appreciated.

1.install XBMC beyone and use the addon 1ch (already installed in it)
2.use app like rkremotecontroll to controll the box with you android device. on ios i am not familiar.

My experience right now actually is that the official XBMC build (Gotham) is the best version right now for Android 4.4 Kitkat. It gets hardware acceleration down well and all the good addons are working on it. This would be my first advise.

As to remote controlling: YEs, RKRemoteControl app (for android) is good for controlling the box itself. But once you're inside XBMC, theres a bunch of app just for controlling it. The best by far is one called Yatse, for android. On iOS, XBMC has an official app which is also quite good.

My advice: Put XBMC Gotham here and install a couple of addons (the aformentioned 1channel is very good) and see how it goes.
