Pipo M8 Pro vs. Pipo M8HD

Maybe I am just easily excited!

Anyhooos ...take a look at dimensions for this 10.1" Sony ...

Then I found this on the Pipo M8HD ..

So the HD Pipo beat the Sony in dimensions, with the same screen size?
That has to be a first!

On top of that ...Stevejc says the M8 Pro and HD are the same size ...(post # 190)

So we have a 10.1" in the same wonderful design and size of the M8 Pro. Kuddos to Pipo!

Man ..I hope they eventually place a 3288 or better in that HD case. Love the design!

Anyone else noted this, or as excited as I am about it?

So, where did the front speakers go? Does the SoC have any problems running the higher pixel-count? Can't find my pixel-density calculator.... What is the density compared to the M8Pro?

EDIT: 224PPI HD vs 160PPI Pro. Better!!

I just flashed my M8Pro with Randy's KitKat and I love it! Is there a reason to change to a 10.1 now?

Ok. The new M8HD at 10.1" is in the same case as the M8 Pro, so that means same size; bigger screen, smaller screen surrounds, same speaker placement.

Also the new HD version is retina ..I think (may need to clarify that) with a better 8000 mah battery.

I had initially thought when Pipo came out with the HD version, it was the same style case, but larger.

Wrong! This is way better. Portability and bigger screen!

Personally I will wait for a spell to see if they employ a stronger SOC in the HD model, but may end up with the 3188 version anyway.

YES ...you are right. The RR KitKat rom for the M8 Pro ROCKS!

Mostly the same case. Looking at the published specs, it's the same format and layout, but there are small differences (same length, 0.2mm taller, 0.3mm thicker). Looking at published pictures, I can just barely see the front speakers over the screen (on the right side) on the HD. Of course, the differences could be just in the publishing, not the manufacturing. I've seen that before.

Wow, those images are large! I'll delete them later, after this has been up for a couple of days.

              Thanks for the pictures.

I was actually basing my statements on what Stevejc said ...as he said he had both.

              Tybalt.
Are you basing your analysis on printed specs? If so, they have been shown to be wrong many times. Reason is I have watched a few vids on the HD and it sure looks exactly the same, other than the screen ...as what I am typing on ...even down to using the same PU case in one Russian video.

Personally I am thinking it is the same case. No matter. I want one!

I hear you have both the HD and Pro. Does the RK3188 seem any slower with the 1920 x 1200 vs the 1280 x 800 screen? I recall reading before I settled on the M8Pro that higher-resolution screens were causing the 3188 to falter and bog-down. That's why I chose a lower-resolution tablet.

                Your personal experiences?

Hi, I have had on M8HD, small lags in 4.2.2 due to internal memory access I think.

These lags have disappeared with KitKat. All is smooth, really. I play sometimes RealRacing without any problems (there were in JB 4.2.2). I really don't see any differences between the two.

You can notice only that with KitKat, Frame rate are slower that with JB (37 vs 41 with Epic Citadel bench)

In Fact, Antutu score is better with M8HD (19500, 21000 with overclock kernel) than with M8Pro (18000).

Now I can only use my old M8Pro with HDMI (because LCD is broken) so I use it only for XBMC on my TV.

Finally I was happy that my M8Pro is broken , because I can get this M8HD !

The screen is really very very good.

I will verify the size exactly , but I have a leather case for M8Pro that fits for the M8HD (speaker, camera)

I see that an 32Go version exists

                    Edit :

I have verified : it's absolutely the same case !!!!

Speaker issues seem to be the norm with the M8. Still that is as good a reason as any to upgrade!
