I got the MK808 mainly to use this with Linux.
It has been several weeks been trying to make this work with WIFI support.
Tried all tips could find on the WEB, tried various Picuntu versions (including 4.4.3), with no luck.
Versions that were suppose to come with WIFI and graphics support (including home://io), just hanged after boot (no graphics).
So, addressing you guys is realy last resort for me.
Here's what I did:
1. Exracted picuntu-linuxroot-0.9-RC2.2.tgz to sd card "linuxroot" partition.
2. Flashed OlegK 3.0.8 to recovery partition on the MK808.
3. Following the instruction from OlegK page:
3A. Added into /etc/modules
bcm40181
rk29-ipp
ump
disp_ump
mali
drm
mali_drm
3B. Added chmod 666 /dev/mali /dev/ump to /etc/rc.local
4. Inserted the SD card to MK808 and booted into Picuntu, then
4A. Overwitten modules (/lib/modules) and firmwares (/lib/firmware) from mod+fw.tar.gz
4B. did depmod -a and reboot.
However, it did not work, ifconfig stil did not list the WIFI card.
I know that the WIFI module is bcm40181, did some tests with modprobe and restrting the networking.
I managed to get see this card with ifconfig, however it was gone after a reboot.
Don't know exactly how I managed to get it listed.
So I'm pretty confused about this.
At the moment, here is dmesg output and ifconfig output.
ifconfig http://paste.ubuntu.com/7538522/
dmesg http://paste.ubuntu.com/7538554/
Guys, I really need some help about this because I'm short of ideas.
I don't want to use the MK808 with Android.
I will be here if any other info required.
Thank a lot, Aharon.
