Pipo had a bit of a rocky start, but has of late proved to be an excellent tablet maker.

I personally own the M8 Pro, and it runs great with a custom KitKat ROM from Randy Riley.

I chose the M8 Pro because of it's relative compact size with a large screen when compared to the 9.7 & 10.1" sizes.

Good news! The new M8 Pro HD is a 10.1" screen in the same case I have ...my M8 Pro. More screen, same compact size.

The HD model is my recommendation. If you want smaller, look at the iFive Mini 3. For that size, it is hard to beat.

    I wish you well.

All of the RK3188 tablets by Pipo are very good. You just have to decide which size suits your needs.

My next devices to support are the P1, a 9.7" RK3288 tablet, and the T9 with an MTK6592 Octa-core. As soon as the donations pick up a bit.

Pipo is an ok company, I personally liked when they were new, the pipo s1 was a great tablet, but lately their tablets are getting less tested and they just seem to be throwing models out letting people test them, for example the U9T supposed to have GPS support but I only pickup 1 satalite on the GPS Test app leaving it on for 3 hours (NO LOCK), and I live at 6000 FT (closer to the sky) so how they can release a tablet with this buggy GPS is beyond me, it could (hopefully) just be a firmware issue or it could be an issue like the M9 Pro had where you had to replace the antenna another issue I had was the touch screen was all wigged out (unusable, reset and everything didn't fix it) when I received it , but lately it has went away but always makes me wonder what caused it and IF it will come back.

the wifi only connects at 64MB/s (because they changed their wifi solution to have bluetooth, gps, wifi on the same chip so speed got sacrificed), their older tablet the pipo s1 connected at 165mb/s (but no bluetooth or gps), so it really depends what you use it for.

the build quality is nice though feels solid usually have a good design and strong glass I just wish they would test their products some more..

and don't buy from pipo-store.com they are not related to pipo and will offer close to zero support after a sale (it could even take weeks to get them to disclose their address for a return giving you broken english answers.)
H96 Pro (S912), CZ-S32-V2.2 (EMMC 100% Died, still functional using Coreelec + SD Boot (uboot loader) / USB (coreelc))
x96Q Max Pro (H616), Slow as F, runs hot, ok for movies.
ChromCast Android TV - Great device but annoying no usb port.

The WORST tablet I ever bought. I have tried numerous ROMs, Kernels, and combinations. The M6 Max still crashes, won't connect to WiFi reliably, and is sluggish. Customer Support? Terrible! I personally will NEVER buy another PIPO product.

Personally I also got fed up with pipo the company went to hell, no support, takes them a week to answer an email, they seem to just release products and then no longer support them, so I sold them all off, just went with a samsung tablet and samsung products are much more high quality have more features and sensors no problems with GPS, screen response is 100 times better then the pipo and better battery life.

the only problem with samsung is the android os is very resrictive and they have knox sensor to block you from rooting it and voiding the warrenty (but you can still do it) , there are still plenty of firmwares and kernels out there if you are into modifying.

I would say get a pipo tablet if it will be a secondary one used for an alarm clock or general use.

I saw your sig at the bottom about not buying from the Pipo store. From reading of others buying from them, I can understand your frustration.

But they are not Pipo! They are not the manufacturer! From what I read, they are probably one of the worst places to buy ...making folks think they are buying direct from the factory.

Personally, I have bought a number of tabs from China ...which usually has been a somewhat frustrating experience because of distance, time & language problems. It just comes with the buying decision.

Most of the brands coming out of China will have some instances of customers NOT being satisfied. So Pipo is not alone here.

My best experience has come from using buyincoins.com. They have always worked with integrity, but even integrity does not eliminate the built in negatives of buying long distance with a language barrier.

Will I buy from China again? Yes ...for sure. And more than likely it will either be a Pipo or an iFive ...but even that can change if they allow thier qualty to slip. Hopefully they will maintain and even improve their overall QC.

I know they are not pipo (the company) and yes that pipo-store.com is horrible they even act like the have a connection to the pipo warehouse (who knows maybe they do and it's how they offload less then perfect items and just deny having a connection),
anyways In my last post I was still referring to pipo.com.cn they only have two people that speak English and that's Ben and Anna it can take them weeks to respond to an email.

Even without the support issue if you have to return an item for whatever reason its going to cost almost $25 to ship a 7in tablet back to china from the USA using the cheapest method with no tracking number (and it takes 2 months for it to reach the destination), after having to send two tablets back costing over $50 and not to mention they are both still on my credit-card waiting for refund.

I had the Pipo P1 on pre-order but then I realized its better to spend $60 more in the first place and get the Samsung tablet rather then deal with first gen test products, even though the RK3288 looked promising I looked at benchmarks and the GPU performance was similar to the adreno 330, and usually with china advertising the specs are probably faked just like the rk3188 where it was supposed to be 1.8ghz, the P1 also had a 4:3 screen I dunno it seems like a step backwards , everything is widescreen now dunno why they put a 4:3 screen in, then the advertising for it was all weird it said the P1 would run at 1.6Ghz even though the rk3288 was 1.8 Ghz - to iffy for me.

With my Samsung tablet I have had zero issues, GPS connects instantly and finds 20 satellites, Wifi is great dual-band, BT is flawless, I am on day two of battery life where a pipo would last 6 hours this tablet has lasted over 18h, it even has temperature sensors for the battery, CPU, GPU, magnetic off detection when you close the case, nearly zero bat drain when tablet is on w/screen off, and proper support for 64gb sdcards, overall just worth the money.

                I had the
Pipo S1 (still use it as alarm clock, great tablet for tweaking and getting to know android OS - easy to restore - impossible to brick )
Pipo S3 Pro (GPS sucked couldn't use it for navigation - low screen res)
Pipo U9T (nice screen but had a dead spot across it - returned . GPS was worse the the S3 - 3 hours no satellite lock).
H96 Pro (S912), CZ-S32-V2.2 (EMMC 100% Died, still functional using Coreelec + SD Boot (uboot loader) / USB (coreelc))

                  Agree.

I just got my Pipo M8 back from China to repair a power switch ...took months.

The point I was trying to make (and could have done so easier) was any China tab brand has stories like this.

It is amazing that name brands have got so close to China tabs in price in certain sizes. I bought the wife an LG GPad for 249.00 through Newegg. It is solid thru out and much faster than my Pipo M8.

Still I prefer the M8. Not sure why ..other than I like to improve, piddle and fix. I really do like the screen, though!
