    s89-h self wakeup from standy

    Hi guys

as posted before, my s89-h is on finless 1.6 now.
I found out that the devices wakes up from standby after 5 mins without pressing the remote or something. The tv is switched to standby too. Suddenly the led switches from red to blue. Then I fire back on the tv and can see the Vega is on. If I switch the tv on after a longer time, the Vega is still blue lightened, but all I can see is a green screen and I have to powercycle the Vega to reactivate.

Any conclusion on this? I will try a clean install later and the stock Rom again, to see if it depends on the “non-h“ finless 1.6
I hope you have fun with my english writing!

all round boxes are same ...

This issue has been sorted for Square Boxes ,I guess round boxes will have the fix soon...

I believe its network related cos Our Square boxes shutsdown wifi connection and no more LED blinks during Standby...

It's not the blinking issue, and it's not that the box can't fire up. The issue is that the box fires up ALONE, without user interaction. If it were a htpc, I would say it's WOL. But afaik the Android box doesn't support that. The bad thing is, that if I don't turn on the tv immediately, the box stucks in booting. Perhaps because of no corresponding hdmi device.

      Best regards

Post it back and your new box will do the same... %100 not 99 ... Search the Forums you'll see 10s of Thread about this issue since the release date of these devices... (Square m8 is not having such issue anymore)

Sounds weird, but I reinstalled everything yesterday. The same setup. And last night everything worked fine. Switched the device to standby and this morning it was as I left it back last night. Red light on, standby. Pressed the remote and it was back.

But wait...there was one little difference...I have now set a static ip in the device because of Wi-Fi connecting issues on dhcp. Perhaps that fixed the standby issue???

            I keep on testing...

My problem seems to be solved.
No self waking of the device anymore.

So you'd managed to solve the problem simply by having a static IP?

Okay, at this Moment I can confirm that it doesn't activate itself anymore, but now from time to time when I press the power button to get from “power on“ to “standby“ it doesn't shut off. It switches from blue light to red, but the screen on the tv doesn't disappear, it switches to dark green...afterwards the device can't be waked up by the remote,I have to power cycle to get it back on again.

                  Weird...
