Video - how to mod cooling of S89

    Hi guys,

here is a short video of how to get rid of the thermal pads Tronsmart is using and how to apply thermal paste instead.
My temps dropped from 65 to 55 degrees C.

Don´t bash me for the mediocre quality and my even more mediocre english :-)

    Enjoy!

More to come... (in landscape next time) :-)

    Nice one

Please be careful with the HDMI and do not use Pair of pliers if possible cos there is a big risk to scratch the board...

Hy...i am gonna receive my tronsmart vega st tomorow. I've already bought Artic Silver 5 thermal paste. Anyone consider that i am gonna need another heatsink?...i was thinking this one http://www.frozencpu.com/products/55...m_x_116mm.html

I don´t think that you really need this, but judging the heatsink that is built in, most other heatsinks will do a better job. (Aluminum).
Anyway, since there is no overclocking yet, the stock heatsink will do it´s job. Change the pads for some thermal paste and you should be good to go.

        cheers.

The video shows application of too much thermal paste. I think you can get away with much less. As it heats it spreads w pressure from heatsink. My .02

Could be true. Although it was just a very small drop... :-)
