        Pipo X2

So, I took budgetgeek's advice and looked around in the MK802IV forum and found Neomode Custom ROM (from http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...4-4-2-*Update* ). Did it ever make a difference! Flashed easy, smooth as butter, using the tool provided with the ROM. I used the 4GB parameter file, and "kernel_t_cpu1608h_gpustock_ddr667.img" as the kernel. Boots up flawlessly, with none of the lag or delays I saw with the other ROM. I was able to queue up 35+ apps to install from Google Play (the other ROM crashed consistently if I queued up more than 4 at a time), and all of the apps I was interested in would install (something I was worried about...I had read that some ROMs did tweaks to the build.prop to allow more apps to install, but it doesn't seem that I need that). I was also able to install XBMC 13.1RC (vanilla, from their website), and standard definition and 720P videos played back perfectly. 1080P was a little stuttery, but that's not a dealbreaker for me and my 720P TV. All in all, I'm very happy with this device on this ROM, and I recommend anyone who wants Kitkat in their Pipo x2, give this a try (as long as you have a good backup or two...it worked amazingly for me, but it may not for you). Thanks to Neomode and everyone else here!

I tried to install the NeoMode MK809III with the kernel you recommended. But the pipo x2 does not start. I checked and saw that light, the light of the pipo .... why, given that you have installed this rom on x2 pipo?
        Thank you.

Everything works great, I changed kernel ...... wonderful rom, which handles 1080p files fine, but with the stock rom, did not go ..... .....

              Your Help Needed

Hi. I'm Tired8281, and I'm really new at this. I bought my first Android TV stick not too long ago, a Pipo X2 ( http://www.cnx-software.com/2014/04/...-sells-for-40/ ). I have been trying to install Kitkat (from http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...highlight=a928 ) but I'm having problems. I got the ROM I just linked to flash, but when it boots up, there is no wifi (says it's turning it on, but it never does), and my USB-Ethernet adapter doesn't work. I thought it might be the kernel, so I flashed a different one ("kernel_KK_v4.20_TVSTICK_AP6210_SD.img" from http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...All-(well-most!) ), which also booted, with working wifi, but this one had no NAND Flash or USB storage or SD Card. Other than the no networking, the first one seemed to have the features I want (It had settings for HDMI to control overscan, that the second one didn't have)...how can I get the networking support from one kernel and the rest from the other? Or is my noobness blinding me to the actual solution?

Thanks a lot for all your hard work, and your patience in dealing with noobs like me.
              Hi Tired 8281,

I am new to this forum and found you the one who has successfully fixed Pipo X2 stuttering issues.

I recently bought this and having the same issues. Could you please help me in getting this issue fixed. I am a novice who even doesn't know how to flash this.

              Please advice. Thanks in Advance!!

Thanks for commenting. I wasn't quite sure about this product. Infact, this product is being rebranded in my country. The only reason why I bought this is because I am getting 1 Year Warranty and ofcourse, the specifications.

But anyway, I will be trying the Tired8182's fix on this over the weekend and will keep you posted. I may need your inputs .

                    RKAndroidTool not detecting the stick

I tried flashing my X2 today, but, annoyingly, the RKAndroidTool did not detect the device. All I can see was "No Found RKAndroid rock usb" in the tool.
Following is what I had been doing:
                    1. Opened the tool on computer.
                    2. Pressed the reset key on the X2 while connecting it with the USB.
                    3. NOTHING HAPPENED.

                    Please help. Thanks!!

                      DONE!!! Pipo X2 Fixed

                      Finally... its Done

Had to search for RockChip driver for windows. It appears better than the stock. Found issues with the Mouse cursor movement. Played 720p and it ran fine. Will test it thoroughly.
