Ok, besides the temperature issue on my box, another issue is the WiFi signal strength and stability. Big problem is: I currently live in an apartment with shared Internet and the WiFi router is several walls away from my box.
So i decided to boost reception/transmission cababilities, by installing an external antenna.
I bought an antenna + RP-SMA connector combo from ****, cut the sticker type antenna at the end of the small coax cable and soldered the connector to it. Then I made a hole in the rear of the box and installed the connector there.
It was not a difficult job... My intention was to place the antenna as much as left as I can on the available space, but I didn't care of the space used by the antenna itself, so now I must remove the antenna if I want to plug my OTG cable... but that's not a so common scenario so I'm cool with that.
RP-SMA connector soldered to the antenna cable
Finished product (and I really mean that, no more hardware mods for this puppy)
My signal went from two bars to four bars Excellent. Also reported speed was 5mbps most of the time, now it is 52mbps
Hope you like it
