Installing zips from an external USB drive in Beyond XBMC

Can someone advise me whether its possible to install a zip file held on my usb stick into Beyond Xbmc? In Xbmc once you insert the usb stick into the CS968 and go to install from zip, the usb stick is clearly visible but in beyond xbmc its not!!

(I'm trying to install the Superrepo zip files held on my usb stick)

I suspect you are using two different versions of XBMC... Beyond XBMC is built with a Frodo version... I'd guess that the other one you mentioned is a Gotham version... that would explain why it isn't "mapped" for you automatically at least.

Use a file explorer such as Root Explorer or ES Explorer etc to help determine the exact full path that your ROM uses for mounted devices/drives

For example... some ROM's will map the sdcard to /sdcard... but the real path is something like /mnt/internal_sd ( it differs on each ROM depending on the author's preferences )... if named simlarly, the external sdcard's full path is /mnt/external_sd .... remember these are just examples and you'll need to look at your own /mnt folder to see what your ROM has...

On my ROM... the usb drives are listed under /mnt/usb_storage .... the first usb disk/drive is then USB_DISK0 ... the second would be USB_DISK1 and so on. The partitions on those drives are also named something as well. I'll use what my Toshiba HD uses as the example for the full path

      /mnt/usb_storage/USB_DISK0/TOSHIBA ....

All of the folders on that drive are listed under that partition.

Now... In XBMC ... select to browse from the rootfile system.... then go to the /mnt/ folder and so forth until you get to the path you are looking for.

Thanks rdsok, i'll give this a try. I was using Frodo 12.3 before which shows the usb drive but Gotham does too. Maybe any future release of Beyond XBMC will have this as standard
