I send details to minix. Now 24hz is in this release non odexed so probably it will be a bit faster. Its basicly what you have now

Sorry, but I thought that ROMS directly from the manufacturer are most of the time odexed and Custom-ROMs like yours non/(de)odexed.
Normally parts of the framework is outsourced (odexed), for modding deodexed version (all within the apk) is easier.
Tell me if I am wrong. Have a good night and stay progressive!

Sorry, but that was not well written by me lol.
Was driving the car while typing....

My rom posted here ( the initial/first 24Hz rom ) was Deodexed so i could modify it and get 24hz working.

I send all info to minix and they released a new beta rom with 24Hz enabled and odexed as a factory rom, 002Beta2 wich is the new link.
The purpose of the new rom i posted is that it is in Flashable Zip format while the stock rom is in .img format wich needs an USB Tool to flash it.
The new rom is stock rom in .zip format, the only changes are that i added my boot logo and a new boot animation to it.

A new custom rom will probably come next week, depends on the time i have for it
          - A2 audio problem
          - probably 25/30Hz
          - Some improvements in other things.
It will be a rom again with improvements over the original.
The patches, changes i will share agian with minix or anyone interested.

PS. Odexed roms will load faster as the odex files are cashed by the dalvik cache on boot so it will speed up the apps.

So the old rom and the new rom are allmost identical, only the first modified is deodexed ( slower) and the stock rom faster ( odexed ).

I hope i make any sense here

            Dear all,

will HD-Audio passthrough (DTS HD MA, Dolby TRue HD) be an option for some (custom) updates to come?
Moreover 3D is not working on my Shutter periphery. How do I have to modify the file name so that
Full-3D is detected properly/automatically and played in full resolution (Shutter).
XBMC is not supporting Full 3D as I know, but which player does it on the Neo? Thx.

"This Rom enables 24FPS on the HDMI output selection !"

What does it mean? how is it in original state? and what is the benefit of 24hz?
              ---

2nd question, what about the NTFS support? can be added? seems like on original Minix FW, it wont use my NTFS drive on X7 is fine

              Thanks

                1024x768 HDMI Output Resolution

Is it possible to add support for 1024x768 HDMI output resolution. Is it supported by the kernel?

Been messing with set_display_mode.sh but not much luck.

Thanks for any hints in the right direction!

NTFS is supported in 002beta3 firmware, this one is outdated allready

set_display_mode.sh is only initialized uppon boot, this is used for the boot animation etc..
When the desktop renders it will fetch the display settings from the settings and switch to that.
So changing that will not work. you have to deodex/decompile the rom and change it inside mboxsettings.apk

Again.. this rom is out dated, MINIX implemented the 24Hz sinds 002BETA2 allready.
I might do a new rom making it 23.976, 25, 30 FPS as soon as i have time for it.

                    @HardwareGuru

Maybe you can answer this for me....

I have been playing around with 24hz/60hz and notice quite few differences. First my tv is 720 samsung and I did read that US TV's are 60hz.

Now on to what I found...
Minix Neo X8-H at 720/1080p 24hz I notice a brighter picture and was able to adjust settings like Sharpness on hdmi 2 which is my PC input I use for android box but did see some film studder once or twice.

Now with 720/1080p 60hz it's a darker image and I guess since it's darker you don't see as much picture loss but I am not able to adjust certain settings in tv like Sharpness etc.

What's your take in this and how should this be set to balance quality /performance and have optimal setup for android box?

Thanks, looking forward in hearing your thoughts
