    Nook sd card format??

My kids just got a nook tablet and I took the micro-sd card, from my android phone that has music, photos amd pdf files, but it doesn't recognize the card. Do I need to format cards before using them in the Nook? I thought they were both Android devices and the cards would work, in either device. Please advice....

Most SDcards are formatted FAT. If your phone formatted the card in some other way then the nook may not be able to read it. Also it's possible and I do not know, nook may support some other format?

Put the SDcard on your PC and see what it is.

Use a program like Sd card formatter 3.1 to reformat the card then insert in to Nook. The Nook uses its own format for the Sd card.

        Check the Card Speed

Nooks can't read cards that are high speed like Class 10. Lots of people have trouble booting to SD cards until they go to a lower class, then it works.

Class 4 SD cards will work fine for most of what a Nook will do.

          Re: Nook sd card format??

Have no problem with using Class 10 SanDisk with Nook Color stock, or running CM7.2 or CM10 from SD Card....
