    BW056 - 5inch RK2918 Tablet (possible CUBE U15GT Clone)



    Specs:

    C P U:RockChip 2918 chipset, ARM Cortex A8 at 1.0GHz
    RAM: 512 MB DDR3
    Storage MLC Nand Flash : (2GB??32GB), 24bit ECC
    SD/MMC/TF Card: Up to 32 GB
    LCD: 5 inch display, high resolution TFT LCD, (800X480),multi-touch and capacitive screen
    USB: OTG
    G-Sensor: Yes
    GPS: Support
    WIFI: Support
    O/S Android 4.0/2.3
    DC in port for charging

    Here are the firmware image files, in case you ever need them:

    For restarting in debug mode, Hold menu key, and press the reset button. RKbatch tool is perfect to upgrade from there on.

    Hopefully we'll be getting a rooted ROM for this one by Bob soon!

    OK here you go.... Here is the first BETA1 ROM. This will boot on my Arnova so I know it is not a BRICK ROM.

    See the readme.txt in the zip file. It would be nice if you could help me update it for how to put the tablet in flash mode. This will help others with this Tab as well.

        So, it's definitely not a brick ROM. It works perfectly fine! But, I need to make a USB-Ethernet Adapter work with this tablet. It didn't work in the 4.0 from the manufacturer how I want it to. But it works perfectly fine on 2.3.

        I've been playing around with the ROM otherwise, and there seems to be no problems with it.

        Do you think you could provide a rooted 2.3 ROM? I hope I'm not bothering too much.

        PS: do you recommend using the tool you supplied to flash the ROM? Because I used to use the RKBatchTool which needed a packed .img file. Is there any difference between this and the one supplied by you?

          It's a different flash tool that allows more power. I converted to EXT4 and thus you cannot use RKBatchtool as it will not understand the ext4 format when packed into an update.img.

            Understood.

            Thanks a ton for your help man, and I hope people out there can use this to root their tablets if they happen to have the same one!

            Also, I used http://www.unlockroot.com/ to root 2.3, for some reason it wasn't working earlier and it worked perfectly now.

            Again, I cannot thank you enough for your help! I now have a place to come to look for expert help on this tablet or any other tablet for that matter!

            PS: I will work on updating the text file and upload the updated one asap.

              Want to upgrade My Cube U15GT

              Hello friends i have two querries.

              1. i have a cubeu15gt 5 inch rk2918, since the company has dumped this model long back and have never released new FW after GB 2.3.1 which was the only stock firmware, so i had to patched it with another stock of clone model F5C, they also released only couple of the upgrades, the last one was sdk 2.1 GB 2.3.1 which is at present i am running , now i want to change its firmware to IC 4.03 or Kitkat is it possible if yes than how,please someoone guide me.

              2. i have installed fresh Ubunutu to swap few applets fron N50DT To UZONE F5C system.img, but i am unable to mount either of any models sys.img, i can only mount the cramfs file system img. of Cube which was the first stock Fw. other images of N50DT & UZONE F5C is not mounting.
              In the terminal it says loop unknown,also tried with different command like ext3,ext4, yaffs but still no luck,can anybody help me out.

                    this Tablet is old what Update you think you can get for it , Lollipop , Marchmallow or Nougat for this 5 year old Tablet with high end Specs ???

                    Madroot maybe it is better to ask with PM i think that nobody looks for it anymore.

                      Hello gefattern. Thanks for the answer. I used the tablet as a GPS navigator. Like sensitivity GPS module in this tablet. Another navigator have the opportunity to buy not So looking for the firmware to restore it. Thank you
