Play muted video w/ music from another app [MK808b]

    [MK808b]
Okay, I've looked everywhere for something that will accomplish what I'm looking for, and so far I've not found it. All I want to do is be able to play a video (any video) without its audio. I want to have music (from another app, like Slacker or whatever) playing in the background, in lieu of the audio from the video. Purpose: View a playlist of awesome HD videos while my Slacker station is playing in the background. Will mostly be used for entertaining guests, etc. I've looked briefly into the xposed framework stuff but am super fearful of bricking my device, and would really love a solution that does not involve flashing a different rom. I was hoping someone knew of an easy workaround or app that provides this capability. Thanks.

    Hi brother,

I think this will work: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title...ckground_video

Use either Flumpster's Beyond XBMC http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...BMC-(Beta-3-4) or latest Android build from XBMC.org (may need to follow Prahjister's instructions if you get the latest build instead of Flumpster's: http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?12486-XBMC-RC1 ).

I think they will install separately, so you can have both installed to test them out and see which one you like best. In Flumpsters, go to settings -> skin settings and there is an option somewhere about "minimum resources mode" or something, which might improve the menu performance.

I'm totally unfamiliar with XBMC, I understand the concept but have never messed with any of their stuff. The how-to looks like it accomplishes exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you for taking the time to help me out, I'll update on progress today hopefully.
Edit: This will accomplish the task with a music file, but what about getting it to let me play Slacker? Probably not with this method, huh? I wonder if I could trick it into playing a stream instead, like a .m3u from xiia.

Update: So far, xbmc won't recognize the .pls as a karaoke file, so it won't let me import it as one.

Alright, I'm doing a new post to make this easier to organize.
I attempted everything I could to get karaoke to work using a .pls, couldn't come up with a working solution.
I'm wondering if the easiest solution lies in simply disabling the audio output of whatever video player will play from a list of videos. I don't think MX Player supports playlists. Anyone have any other ideas?

That's a shame. XBMC is pretty versatile. I can't think of any other ideas, but you can try asking on XBMC forum.
