    Smothiness, Minix X8H and Tronsmart S89 Elite with XBMC vs Plex Media solution

    Hi!
    I have one Minix X8H and one Tronsmart S89 Elite.
    My goal is to have a perfect smooth video experience (1080p) in XBMC to my Samsung TV (UE55F8005) from my connected NAS Synology DS213j.

    I have that smoothiness today in the Plex-app on the Samsung Smart-TV, via a Plex Media server on a PC that's connected to the NAS.

    I hope that the Minix and Tronsmart Firmware and XBMC will evolve so that I get the same good experience in the future with thoose. Now, it's quite a difference in smoothiness between the solutions.

    I have to give my regards to Finless Bob and all others (Oman etc), hope you make it guys!!

    Is anyone using Plex on these machines? I think I am about to plunk down the 5$ (or 1$ from amazon) to give a try.

    Setting up a Plex Media Server may be time consuming though so I don't want to do it for nothing.

      i have two, 2tb hard drive with a lot of content that is connected to my pc. i installed the plex media server and located the folders with music and movies. it quickly found everything. no hassle. also, i bought the android app. it works like a charm. hd is fluid. i dont have plexpass fyi. just bought the app. so i guess its good if i want to use this box and have gigs of content but dont want to hook all those harddrives up to the minix. also if i go to someones house and i take the minix in a small case i use, i turn my mediaserver from the pc on and fire up plex on the road. its tight.
