    Linux on the X8-H?

I see that Minix will soon release the kernel source for the X8. Do you think we'll ever see Linux running on the X8 hardware?

Yeah, I'd personally love an OpenElec type build for this box, because the Android build is fairly useless for me. All I'm using it for its a media box and since it can't do Netflix, HBO Go, etc. well, I might as well just have the leanest xbmc install possible.

This all makes only sense if you have HW acceleration at MALI 450. At the moment only 3D HW acceleration at MALI 400 exists but no video HW acceleration (after long time reverse engineering)...
(To use it only as a simple Linux device, there exist cheaper ones)

Most of the cheap ones have a lot of performance problems and trade offs. What I'd love is a $100 box that did XBMC rock solid at 1080p.

Yes, as I wrote 3D and he only show 3D testing results...
Also have a look at Liliputing - Linux 3D graphics support for Rockchip RK3188 devices
=> "At this point hardware-accelerated graphics should enable support for 3D graphics and games, but not necessarily for hardware-accelerated HD video playback."

Sorry, but I hear this BS so often, but my rk3188 box (ok, not a stick and not using T) runs well and smooth and without any performance problem also at android (also big 1080 mkv) and Linux (of cause without video player ) ...

Also ras pi do a really good job at 1080 mkv because it is able to use HWA (also with VLC) but it is much slower then the rk3188 box at Linux for other job's...
