    iFive X2 RileyROM 1.6 KitKat

This ROM is based on official iFive factory firmware dated 2/19/2014.

As with all of the KitKat ROM's, if you are upgrading from a Jellybean ROM, you must keep the loader.bin file checked. If you fail to flash the KK loader.bin, you WILL BRICK YOUR TABLET.

    This ROM is:

    Rooted
Debloated (I used the Chinese version because the English file was unavailable...so I had to remove several Chinese apps)
    Init.d support added
    Busybox commands added
    English default
Pre-Install and Auto-install of apk's from your external SD autoinstall folder
    Google Play Store fixes added
1, 2, 4, 6, 8 or 12gb user app space by selecting the appropriate parameter file (4gb default)
(I've experienced a problem being able to erase IDB on some iFive tablets...so if you have trouble doing so, just use the default parameter file and flash the ROM without erasing IDB)
    Increased wifi power
    Reboot App by Petrus
    Flash Tool by Finless
TWRP Recovery installed after first boot, by Abdul_Pt

    Enjoy!!!!!!

I just flashed the ROM, installed speedtest.net app and didn't get great wifi results (not sure what you're improvements are actually). Then I went into /etc/firmware/nvram.txt and modified the pa0maxpwer to 82 instead of 74 and achieved 10 Megabit/sec download and 15 Mbps upload sitting 2 meters away from my Airport Express. This is the same as I achieved with the rom from Arctabet.

I still can't stream 720p/1080p MKV files from my NAS with this tablet while my iPad is able to. Any ideas how to boost the wifi even further? I have already replaced the antenna with an antenna from the Sony PSP.

You can go up to 100 on that setting. Just remember you may take a battery consumption or heating hit. I only change those settings on tablets with known wifi issues because it does cause increased battery use.

I have also read this elsewhere and tested multiple settings and found 82 to be optimal.

It's a shame really; I love this tablet and its size but WiFi performance and lack of sdxc support are frustrating. My sdxc 64gb microsd cards only work via on the go and not in the TF slot. I have tried NTFS and Fat32 but playback of video files fails. Same card on USB works fine.

I am considering buying ifive mini 3gs with mediatek or waiting for 8.9 inch rk3288 tablets.

            @rrileypm

Will you be able to add exFAT support for the MicroSD reader?

As far as I know, support for exFAT is in the kernel.

Hi, Randy. Thank you for the work. I flash this rom and find some bugs. The first screen and the twrp recovery seem to be in wrong resolution.

I try to flash some twrp recoverys made by abdul_pt. only the "TWRP 1920x1200 rk3188 KitKat" can show full screen and works fine. But the first screen is in the kernel. May be you could fix that. By the way, the Gapps works fine. There won't be "upgrading apps" every reboot under ART mode.

Thanks for the info. I must have gotten the resolution wrong. When I get time, I will post an update to fix that.

I'm pretty busy this week...I'm doing mine AND my boss's job right now.

I have a question about the X2. Sorry, this might not be the correct forum. My tablet as of last weekend, has no function. It doesn't boot, charge. I've tried turning it on holding the power button and volume + and -. I've also tried the reset button.

                    Any suggestions???
