Minix X8-H app launches in phone mode

Dear all, my older android media player, the Tronsmart MK908 with Finless v1.8 ROM can launch this app in tablet mode (landscape) at launch. However, surprisingly on the Minix X8-H, the same app launches in phone (portrait mode). Is there a way to force the app to run in tablet mode on the Minix?

Other apps don't have issues launching in landscape/tablet mode. But It's odd that the same app can do so on my older MK908 but not on the Minix X8-H
