Problem: Crazy flickering screen using Wasser's 3.1a Rom

    Hi all,
just flashed the most recent 3.1a Rom onto my X7, but I'm having problems... I'm getting quite a lot of flicker, especially at the top of the screen, and when I enter the File Explorer, or any app with a white background, the screen goes crazy with flicker. Can anyone explain this?

Previously I was on Finless 1.6 Rom and flashed 3.1a directly "on top of" it... Should it have been done a different way?

Also, what use are the overclocked Kernals? Are the simply to add speed? If so, I don't need to experiment with them just yet, but if there are other practical reasons to give them a try, please let me know.

    Thanks.

I can't explain it but I think wasser made a kernel for users who have flickering screen problem.

Edit: I read wasser's 1st post and can't see any info? Although the Quickshot 3.1 ROM does have a kernel fix for flickering screen as far as I read...

Cool... So it's a kernel issue? If that's the case, I just need to flash a new kernel onto the device (leaving the firmware as it is,) I presume?

If someone could point me in the right direction to instructions to flash a new kernel, it would be much appreciated.

      Thanks.

Yeah it looks to be kernel related. Flashing just the kernel doesn't mess with anything else so your system settings/apps stay intact.
Read posts #1523 > #1528 of wasser's ROM. The preferred method seems to be the via the terminal.
