    Is X8-h right for me?

I want to buy a media player but I am confused which media player is right for me. This is what I want:

    1. Smooth, Fast Playback of 1080p movies (stereo sound is ok) from external 2TB USB hard-drive, with NO stutter, NO lag. Smooth, fast.

    2. Miracast from my phone (= screen mirroring) with little to no lag/stutter.

    3. Apple AirPlay from my wife's iPhone and apple screen mirror from wife's Macbook with little to no lag/stutter.

    4. Easy to use remote in which I can easily type text for searching etc.

    5. NetFlix (720p+ quality), YouTube (HD if available) and other video-streaming sites like Vimeo, Hulu

    - ChromeCast would be nice to have.
    - Surround Sound would be nice to have

If X8-H is not for me, what else would you recommend?

My budget (with taxes, shipping) for above package is < US $200

    Thanks

i can give some small incite so i hope it helps a little.

    1. i played 1080p video from my 2tb toshiba external harddrive. no problems and all is in sync.

    2. i use a custom rom and kernel on my phone so i havent tested any of this yet.

3.dont own any apple stuff but i saw an air-type app that seems to enablew this as well as dlna and upnp afaik.

    4. the remote packaged with it is useles mostly except for volume and power and maybe some slight navigation. the free gift Neo M1 remote/ wireless air mouse is cool and easy to navigate for the most part but lacks the qwerty kb. there are some other minix remotes that have the keyboard too. and there is the ipazzport with IR remote also. heard good things about that. for my preferance, i use a bluetooth mouse, and a logitech k400r for now till i test out some remotes with keyboards.

a google search should find these on amazon or geekbuying. the neo m1 is cool as a free gift, but idk if i would pay the full price when i could find one with a kb for a bit more.

    5. youtube hd looks good and netflix isnt hd when first lauched but it gets there within minutes. this may be my case though because im using the Finless 1.0 ROM from these forums and it spoofs the minix to look like a nexus 10 so that may be why the quality is good on my netflix app.

    dont have a chromecast

get the x8-h and you have great sound. hardware supports it on the -h models

the price is 149 on geekbuying and ask about the free gift remote m1

hope this helps some. i have been throwing 1080 p streams from the mashup plug in on xbmc, no probs. i use the default 4k media player for my content on the 2tb hd and its butter as well. i like this minix a lot more than my tronsmart vega s89. thats my opinion

Are you saying that you are getting HD in Netflix? If so, can you check whether you are also getting DD+ audio option?

I have done wireshark capture of Netflix stream to X8-H and never saw it go above 2 Mbps.

No offense but you can't buy the quality.
And he needs apple screen mirroring for his wife as well. Plus a good remote. That would cost already $30 extra, min.
