    Cannot Decide on TV box

    Help. I cannot decide between these Tv Boxes.

    1. Amazon Fire TV
    Pros
    -cheaper
    -amazon prime
    -nice specs
    Cons
    -amazon ecosystem
    -side loading apps
    2. Minix Neo x8 h
    Pros
    -dedicated Android
    -good support
    -nice specs
    -more USB ports
    Cons
    -problem are slowly surfacing....
    -PRC made

    Anyone have any honest feedbacks and suggestions on these two?

    I am sorry I cannot help you but have an exact same question myself.. Deciding between the same 2 devices.

    As far as I have seen, my only problem with Minix is that it supposedly can't stream Netflix over 480p. As Netflix will be streamed quite a lot its keeping me off from Minix. Fire TV on the other hand is very closed and requires a lot of effort to get things working beyond Amazon eco.

    Also, as you mentioned there's the price difference as well.

    Would love if someone can chime in..

        That's same as Minix x8h so I guess will have the same Netflix issue?

          Netflix issue is a strange one. A lot of users forget to change their settings on Netflix site also. I have mines set on HD and I get fantastic quality from app and this box.
          Me and Finely both get good quality

            Don't get me wrong I did spend time and research into these Android boxes for optimal xbmc experience and went with 89h

              Have you tried the bitrate overlay displayed when playing this video on Netflix, El Fuente 60 MP10?

              As everyone has reported with x8h, it doesn't go beyond 640x480. Could you please do it on your S89h if you havn't already?
