M8 pro Wi Fi switches off when screen off/sleeping

Hi,
I'm using RileyROM 2.0a and while downloading a very big data chunk for my navigator (4 Gb) I noticed that my Wi Fi keeps on switching off even if in the Wi Fi advanced settings I ticked "Always" or "Only when plugged in" for Keep Wi Fi on during sleep.
Any idea how to fix this?

That should be in your settings menu... Don't have your rom so can't check.
Setting > WiFi > advanced (upper right 3 points button) > keep WiFi on during sleep > set to all.

Yes, and that's exactly the problem, even though I tick "never sleep" it does sleep. The only way to keep it going is to keep the screen on.

do you have by any means a battery saving app installed?

these can alter sleep mode settings
