Should I upgrade to Kitkat?

Hello,

I am thinking about upgrading to from Hardware guru 4a rom to kitakat.

What do you think? should I do so or do you believe that kitakt is not worth it?
I read that comming back from kitkat to JB might brick my device.

IMHO I would stay on JB and never ever upgrade to Kitkat if I had a choice. Low end devices benefit from the OS but SD card functionality could be lost. That's my 2 cents.

I had similar doubts but took the plunge .... now I'm very very happy with QS 3.1 which gave me a new, superquick X7 box. With all the other JB based firmwares I tried, my X7 crawled, now it simply flies !
Read posts in the threads devoted to KK firmwares, most if not all users are really happy with Wasser/QS firmwares, YMMV though.
And I have no problem whatsoever reading and writing the external SD with Quickshot 3.1 KK firmware...

Should I upgrade to Kitkat?

I am currently on Kitkat and there is no custom rom yet on Geniatech ATV 1800. Awesome player in my opinion, they just need to release it. X7 has been around for awhile so it's great there is custom roms. my Kikat experience was met with resistance however I will be cautious of future Android releases but everything now works like it should. The S802 experience rock, 25 gig bluray ISO playback is flawless so far.

If you use your x7 for Skype video calling don't get QS 3.1 because there is an issue where the camera output is way too dark making it unusable. Other than that it really is much faster.
