    Q7 2G RAM 8G ROM Android 4.2.2 Quad core RK3188 TV BOX

A friend of mine gave me this box which he was going to throw away. He bought it from a seller from Aliexpress and found out that although it lights up all it shows on the screen is the symbol "R-Box" and it remains stuck on that screen.
I obtained a Q7 update image file to flash it but I found out that the ac hole socket of this box is empty and there is nothing you can hold with a taper. Is there another way to flash this box example through a computer or something else or shall I do what my friend was going to do and throw it away?
This is an image of the TV box

    Hi and welcome

Try connecting your unit to a USB hub (external powered one, 5v 2A) or usb-power-adaptor
-using USB2 to Micro usb Cable ( hub to unit )
    Then see.. if it boots/lightsUp

    If that works.. try
Pc to Usb Hub to unit.. then use a tool like rkflash tool to upgrade the firmware
-on blog.geekbuying.com or youtube or freaktab are howto's

If you confirmed that the unit works... you can just soldeer ac cable to unit..

    Anyway.. goodluck

    Ps..
Please dont Throw away.. a unit.. just offer it.. to another (freaktab) user..
-hey might have the skill to make the unit work (i did, when i bricked my cs918)
    Just a thought.. cheers

The unit lights up blue when I connect it to a USB of my pc. I downloaded rkflash tool to upgrade the firmware and followed the instructions http://www.hotmcu.com/wiki/Flashing_..._Rockchip_Tool
The problem is that when I try to upgrade the box it could not find the device attached.

It is being found as an MTP device not as a Rockusb device.
