Finless ROM "tweaker" for the Neo X8 stock ROM BETA 003

Hey folks.... here is a tweaker update I made for the Minix Beta 003 6/28 ROM.

Hope you enjoy the speedy work to get this out on the same day as the BETA 003

WHAT THIS IS NOT:
This is not a ROM. This ZIP update modifies ONLY the Minix X8 BETA ROM 003 dated 6/28. It does not matter if you installed that BETA ROM from the flash tool or my update ZIP version.
DO NOT USE THIS ON ANY OTHER ROM!!!!!

WHAT THIS IS:
It is a update ZIP that modifies the Minix X8 BETA 002 6/16 ROM.

WHAT IT DOES:
1) It erases NAND /data so YES you loose all data! Sorry I must do this for clean up!
2) It roots the ROM properly by flashing a modified boot.img
3) It debloats the ROM of all those pre-installed APPS. Many APPs are still not the latest so best they are removed.
I left in Airplay and Minix XBMC
4) It removes useless system apps.
5) It updates what APPs are left including Google Play and all the Google framework.
As of this release, everything is updated so when you logon to Google Play nothing needs updating.
6) Installs a cleaned up the AOSP launcher and puts more useful things in the doc bar.
7) Installs a working Calendar APP that syncs with Google.
8) Installs PS3 game pad support. XPad for Xbox is already in the kernel this time. Thanks Minix!
This is now in boot.img and NOT using a init.d script like my patcher.
You do NOT need to use my xbox patcher with this update.
9) I unlocked the hard coded device ID in boot.img. You can now spoof different devices editing build.prop
REMEMBER THOUGH, if you spoof something other than a NEO-X8, Minix XBMC will not work.
In the ROM I left the device as a NEO-X8 but I also give you build.nexus which you can use if you like.
Just use EX File Explorer, turn on root, set system as mounted RW and rename these as you please.
But see #10 below for an easy way
10) I give you build.prop spoofer ZIP updates in this download!
One will switch build.prop to emulate a Nexus 10.
The other one will switch you back to a NEO-X8.
You can use these back and forth and they do not erase anything!
Please note: You may want to clear the cache and data on the Google Play Store, Google Play Services after switching! To do this, go into settings/apps scroll over to ALL and click on each and clear cache and data. You know you did it right if the next time you run Google Play it asks you to accept terms.
11) This time I also supply my CPU speed patchers in a folder called Cpu_fix.
See the README in that folder for what it is and does and how to use them!
12) Did a little "theming" this time. Hope you like it.
13) Other tweaks and mods I do for my ROMs.

14) I did not have to modify the TCPIP buffers this time. Minix used my tweak from last time.


This is not a full Finless ROM but it is DAMN close .
It does NOT do all the things I do in a Finless ROM release! This is only a quick tweaker and ONLY for use on the Minix 6/28 BETA 003 release!.

If this BETA ROM proves stable, I will do a full Finless ROM later.

I just hooked up a external HD formatted NTFS.
I was able to write to it NO PROBLEM.

Note: It would not see the drive when hooked to a USB HUB. I had to hook it directly to a USB port on the X8.

Thanks Finless for all your hard work. Im finding that the odd time I click on XBMC , then Super user kicks me out of Xbmc, then I have to try a few more times and it works.(This happens when the Super User captions are flashing showing xbmc has permission etc). In Beta 002 this did not happen. What can I do to fix this?

The box takes a while to boot fully even though you have the desktop.
You can tell this because when you run a rooted APP it does not prompt you right away or is late in allowing su.

Wait at least 30 seconds once the desktop appears for it to settle down and then it should work OK.
