    Choosing a new TV Box

Hello, there probably are dozens of posts like this, so sorry if it's a dupe (I have searched and did not find an answer).

    My MK809III have recently died ( ).
I am searching for a new Stick/TVbox to replace it.

I was very disappointed from my last stick, and this time I hope to find a stick that actualy works.

    My expectetions are:
*Perfect 1080 playback - I needed dozens of roms\kernel comibation to make it work on my last one (worked fairly bad).
*Good WiFi Cheap (I was never able to pass the 14mbps on my last one - on a good day).
*Menus and launcher experience to work decent - No more spamming for clicks.
*An External Audio Output and WAN cable reccommended but not a must.
*I hope to find a device that developers support and there are available mods\roms for it.
*I do not care about size\mobility.

***I know I posted this on the RK3188 forum but I have no objections to get AMLogic\RK3288\etc... as long is it fulfills my expectetions.

I hope my expectetions are not too high from these devices.

In the end, all I want is a device to play 1080p on XBMC and work OK... nothing more.

    Thanks in advance :P

I have put my eye on CS968, CS918 and Minix X7\8\8-H.

But I can't find any reviews if they fit what I need...

I do not live in the US and do not wish to subscribe to paid channels.

Does it run Android? Can it run XBMC?
I prefer a box that runs Android or Linux, anything I can run XBMC on...

It runs on a fork of android OS, it can be rooted, side-load games and apps including play store, play movies from usb hard drive, run xbmc and spmc. It has a lot of support. Or if you don't mind waiting, googles android tv is coming out later this year. I also recommend gbox mx2. You can buy generic mx2 and install official matricom firmware if you want to save money, Ive read that they are made in the same factory. Amlogic has better picture than rockchip and no frame skipping choppy playback in xbmc.

Also interesting, isn't the harware outdated though? Dual-core A9 with 1GB ram?

for purely android apps and games the newer quad core boxes are faster, but when it comes to xbmc and stability the mx2 currently outperforms them. The rk3188 devices have all kinds of bugs like color space problems, choppy playback, buggy firmware.
