It still has the stock FW loaded on it so i assume i can move straight to Riley-Rom 1.3 ??

Worked for me. Unfortunately it did not improve much on my WiFi experience (which is generally horrific with this device), even with a custom kernel. However, the ROM is decent and things are running a tad smoother than stock at the very least.
