Problem with External Keyboard with CX-919

I have just received my new CX 919 and connected a UK layout USB keyboard. It is detected and works OK but the keyboard mapping is set for US layout. I have set my location and Language for the UK and selected UK layout for the Onscreen keyboard but can't find anything in the stock settings to change the external keyboard to UK. I have tried two apps "External Keyboard" and "External Keyboard Helper" which appear to allow me to select the UK layout for the external keyboard but neither has any effect. I have tried two different keyboards, one wired and one wireless and both behave the same. I have tried the keyboards connected to my Android tablet running 4.3 and the keys are mapped OK.

Can anyone help please?

This is the "External Keyboard" App that I referred to in my post. It recognized my keyboard and let me select the UK Keyboard but it did not change the mappings. I still have @ for Shift 2 and " for Shift apostophe. Also no £ or €.
