PIPO U7 3G - custom rom?

hello!

just one question. maybe two!

is there custom rom for U7 3G pipo tablet? under "standard" RK section i can't find it, and that is ok, it is different chipset.
but, also under MTK tablets no luck.

so, is there some custom roms for that model? or to be more precise, i just need root and maybe app partition resize option.

I haven't done one yet...I haven't seen the firmware posted by Pipo.

I've been working on some MTK ROM's, but I don't have a Pipo tablet to test yet. Donations are pretty sparse right now.

OK, here are a couple of links. The first one is a test RileyROM v1.0. It has all of the usual RileyROM features...just follow the First Time User's Guide for instructions:

This is the factory firmware I made the ROM from...just in case there is a problem. I don't have a U7, so I haven't tested it.

huh, your'e quick!

i founded, and managed to download whole file, same rom as you linked, dated 23. 6. 2014.

i'll be very glad to try your's, but i still do not have it. it is for my parents, and i'm still looking for "right" tablet for them, and this U7 just arrived in croatia. and as they are not power users, it will be just right for their needs. i hope i'll make purchase next week (no time to go to store).

so, i downloaded your rom, and now i have two questions.
there is "smart phone flash tool" in package. i opened it, loaded scatter file, everything loaded, all "checks" are checked, and now i suppose to start "download" process.

in your "first time flash.pdf", you use standard, older MTK flash tool. in this package there isn't that app.
i think that there is no difference in usage between those two apps.

BUT! in your manual and in flash tutorial for SPFT there is one sentence that i'm not sure how to deal with:

"Turn off your phone, remove the battery and replace it after some seconds (and don't turn on the phone)."
and,
"5. At this point, you need to remove the battery from your device and connect the device to a USB 2.0 port on your PC (USB 3.0 is not supported). You should start hearing the “dings” in Windows to signify that it detects your device."

U7 have no removable battery, so, how to manage that part of flashing? just turn off tablet and proceed with download process, or what?
