under $100 tablet
My wife has been playing with my 702c and now wants one. Is there a better option in same price range? She's new to Android so my thnking is to get her a 702c since I've had mine for a few months and can help her easier. Are there any compelling reasons to buy her something different?Tags: None

Sorry I didn't state that in my first post. Overall I'm happy with mine just wanting to know if there something else out there with compelling reasons to purchase it over the Polaroid 702c

They all will get Android 4.1 Jellybean for sure. They all are almost eual to google nexus 7 in performance bench marks. check table.
I'm saying this either save your $40 or so and get any of these. Don't get stuck with any in-between tablets, cuz you already got one. I think you know what I mean.
Currently I find these three deals very tempting.

Enjoy
Too many of them are most likely some kind of scam. If the price being offered seems too good to be true, it most likely is, especially if it's being sold on a WWW site you've never really heard of before now or has an address something like this:
Another thing that wasn't mentioned here was that Buysku.com is located in Hong Kong.
So if you actually order any of the tablets from the www sites mentioned here you'll be basically importing them from China yourself, with all the hassles involved with *THAT*.Last edited by c,lei; 05 August 2012, 15:20.

Having said that. Any, I mean ANY tablet if you want to buy will come to you from china / hong kong. Even if the seller says that he is in US, even then.
There is a tablet buying culture / scene exist. Where if you want to buy "latest and cheap" then you have no option but to buy from china or hongkong for obvious reasons.
And lot of people buy the thing from these site using "only paypal" to cover their ass, If anything goes wrong. The mere existence of this forum where we are discussing this is based on these sales.
Looks like you've never bought anything from china / hongkong based sites. There is no hassles. They just ship is with HK post, you get your tracking number and then product on your doorstep after 15 days or so.
But if you've never bought any thing from outside US, then I definitely discourage you from doing any purchase. But just to give it a try you can do some small purchase of $1 or $2 tablet case or something, Just to test them.
*That link messup was my mistake, I was just trying to test between google vs bing translate test.

It isn't just the cheap ones that come directly from China. I have ordered two iphones and an ipad that were all directly shipped from China.

Anyways if OP is not comfortable ordering from an overseas website especially a Chinese/ Hong Kong based, I can understand that, A lot of people reluctant to do that, Including my own father.
But I convinced my father to buy a cheap hearing aid for my mom for $9 (Which otherwise costing him $200 at our place) and it arrived after 20 days. And he was very happy thinking that he ripped of that china man, Now he is sort of ok with Chinese men out there
So my advice to OP would be if you want some really cool deals, Then learn to open up with these Chinese shop. They are not very different from our corner shop guy.

I think people should know that they maybe ordering something from somewhere they don't speak the language, and what's more importantly the people selling the item to you may or may not speak yours.
In other words, know what the heck you're getting into.

And above all, keep in mind that you have an "interesting" choice if you are in the US and it breaks. Because you can't send it back via US Mail.
1) Pay more to ship the tablet back to china via dhl, ups or fedex.
2) Lie on the customs form and hope you don't get caught. (Do you really want to come to the attention of federal law enforcement by shipping flammable materials in the hold of a passenger aircraft?)
3) eat the loss.
Keep warranty and/or return costs in your mind too.

It would be difficult to buy a domestic tab.
I suppose I have been a risky fellow, but have attempted to bypass the middle-man and purchased directly from Asia many times. It has gone well for us.
Shipping time was occasionally VERY slow, but always came through.
One big item arrived DOA. Upon my complaint the domestic vendor contacted their source, and the manufacturer mailed a replacement component quickly. I was happy.
Most Asian vendors are a pleasure to work with and you will generally get what you pay for, yet you must be aware there are few, if any reservations on copying, cloning, substitution, or fantastically exaggerated claims, or blatant puffery (look it up!).
It would not generally be cost effective to attempt pursuit of a claim for most items that might be deficient in some way.
I do believe Asian vendors earn their living from a very, very small profit margin, and they depend upon volume sales to survive. Excess defective goods would be counter-productive.
Still, there remains good reason to make your purchase from a local brick and mortar establishment.

I just bought a Ainol Aurora IPS 8 gig tablet off **** for 129.99 shipped. I had some money in PayPal from some online surveys sites I do then sold another trinket so I had more then enough in the account to cover it without deficit sending or putting it on my card. The display is the crispest brightest I have seen of all my cheap China tablets and it's very fast and smooth too. It already has ICS loaded and the Google play store and all that so I think it's already been rooted and had a few cool games installed and things too to get me started. If you really want a good tablet give this one a shot for about 30 bucks more. I Ordered it Thursday and it showed up today out California with their buy it now and free shipping. It was also packed well and was charged up enough outa the box to fire it up and play right away. Doesn't appear to have any defects and has a nice screen protector installed whether the factory did it or the seller did. Also because it's IPS the viewing angle and black level are outstanding. Here's the link if you want to check it out and they have another auction running with the same price and great feedback. http://www.****.com/itm/7-White-L-G-...item20c800e9a5 I think I'll let sister use the Polaroid as for what I paid and not having to wait I still love it but this new one is in a whole nother league.

Since I suggested the links, then I think I should clarify that this is obvious that those shops are asian, and mentioning that they don't speak mine or you language etc. is plain stupid.
Having said that. If you are looking for a decent good DualCore/1GB Ram/1024x600 7" capacitive tablet in US or by a US seller under $99. Then good luck.
These days getting a cutting edge product in relatively cheap price, generally mean you are heading towards an asian webshop.
And if you want someone to tell you (even after providing the links) that these are Asian webshops, then I think you are not ready to buy online. Period.
