I think that's how it's done on new tabs, I have the same on the 10bG3.
It's an ICS thing I believe.

I have the same issue with the N101. My 10G2 would turn off when charging no problem.

Its a new safety for the battery.
Sow you can not overcharge the battery or something like that.
Look at your battery icon when its fully charged (on 10b g3 when the charger light is green)
then the electricity sign is gone from the icon.
            Sow its charging anymore

OK so yes I have noticed this too. Seems common to ICS on a lot of tabs.

Since this tab does not have a reset button or pin hole you can force power it off (it's like a reset). Just hold the power button and after a few seconds it will just shut down. You do not get a proper shut down dialog. It just powers off.

HOWEVER.... this is really not good to do. Doing it this way does not unmount the file systems etc. So you could possibly corrupt the sdcard (internel or external), etc. While I have been doing this myself and have not noticed a problem, again this is not a real shutdown.

So this is not a hardware problem. The N90 ROM will allow you to power off while plugged in. Well at least it gives you the "power off" dialog and does power off. However it has it's own bug. It does power off but then boots right back up again!

If you notice on the N101 and my ROM, the reboot app i put in, if you select power off it will power off if your not charging. If you select power off while it is charging, it just reboots.

I will be looking into this a little more but it is clear code is somehow telling it what to do.

OK this will be in my new ROM. I have fixed this in a way.

On the N101 if the charge jack is plugged in and you hold the power button for a few seconds you NEVER get the "power off prompt". Hold it long enough and you basically have done a reset. NOT GOOD TO DO THAT as you can hose your file systems as they are not unmounted properly!

However on the N90, if you hold the power button you at least get the "prompt" to shut down. Only problem is if the USB or power cord is plugged in, yes it shuts down but boots right back up again! THIS IS A HARDWARE implementation for some reason. Not sure why though. FIRMWARE will not fix that.

So the good news is you can actually shutdown and unmount the file systems
The bad news is the N101 or N90 will still try to boot again IF the power cord or USB is connected.
HOWEVER when it starts to boot up again, just hold the power button until it shuts off! This will be just about at the boot screen and maybe a little into the boot animation if your late with the button. The good news is this will not corrupt files systems as they are not mounted yet!

The BEST news is you can now charge with the unit OFF... If you notice if you do power off and then plug in the charger, the freakin thing boots again ..... So I can now give you a PROPER power off and ability to charge which is something that is pretty much impossible to achieve (stock ROM) without the LONG power button reset which as I said is NOT GOOD!

So I also have fixed this issue in the best way possible. For sure better than stock N101!

Stay tuned, this will be in my next ROM.
