    4k output for uhd display

    In germany i saw the first affordable 600€ 4k uhd screens with 3d, i am tempted by the values and might risk getting one even tho i am a bit scared, the internal mediaplayer of those tv´s from hisense does not support 4k itself, now i am curious can i watch true 4k content from an k-r42 ?

    NO, only 1080p...
    If you want a 4k mediaplayer have a look at amlogic s802, later at s812 and also rk3288...

      Hisense is the brand, look in amazon.de they have a few interesting ones but there are serious downsides too for that price.

          4k is pointless right now.

          It's a marketing gimmick to get you to buy the latest devices that support it.

          When you look at the sheer size of the data that will be required to push 4k, even when compressed, it's just not a viable format.

          Look at how long HD has been around and you will see that there are still many services still pushing SD.

            Yes and no...
            I think at large size screens with good displays and good processor it make sense because of upscaling...
