    RK3188_BOX_V3.0

Hello all, this is my first post so I apologize if I give too much detail or too little.

After browsing the forum I have determined that I have a CS918 but the PCB has RK3188_BOX_V3.0 on it. It worked for about 2 hours and i installed XMBC on it and after a while it just showed a blue screen and turned off, I turned it back on and 5 minutes later it turned off again, and with every reboot after that it just turned off quicker and quicker, I figured it was overheated, came back next day and exact same stuff with it only being on 5 minutes.

So I read through the forums, downloaded the necessary tools and downloaded some ROMS.

I went to this thread http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...OX_V3-0-on-PCB and downloaded Mo123_custom_v2, this would boot cycle constantly even though another user confirmed it worked without issue for him.

I also download the dump from the 1st post in that thread hoping to just try reloading the stock image. However there were several separate files and I couldn't understand how to make a flashable image to use with Rockchip Batch Tool v1.6.

I also tried download firmware from http://blog.geekbuying.com/index.php...-flash-method/ and that image wouldn't even let me turn the unit on.

Then lastly I tried http://www.enybox.com/En/news/html/?444.html This got the furthest but it also crashed. and a thing with this one is that the LED would stay red all the time even when the unit was one. It also restarted several times before it worked.

What is the process for Flashing the ROM? I leave the USB connected to the PC and Android box the entire time until it starts up and shows the home screen, am i supposed to disconnect it as soon as it finishes downloading to the box?

If someone could just point me to the stock image or directions on how to make an image from the 6 dump files I would be really happy.

    Thank You

      tried any of these?

could be wrong but your board looks just like mine.

RKbatchtool should work with these, just flash the update.img

you need the RKAndroidtool to flash the individual images (system.img, boot.img, recovery.img etc)

        hey tonian,

thanks for the hint. im not sure about which roms ive tried before. after like 1000 i lost track ;-).
i will certainly try them all, since i never found one yet that doesnt have any problem.
i usually ended up in situations like:
        -all cool, but no wifi
        -all cool, but no lan
        -all cool but netflix sucks
        -very unstable/crashes but netflix/wifi/lan works
        ...and so on

anyways. your post makes me think that you believe that the box we have is a q7, right?
the way arround: are you sure it aint t-r42? thats what i thought it was and i am the only person on the planet with this weird rev. and date printed to the pcb ;-)

i owe you a beer if i succeed...

My understanding of the T-R42 is that the is many variations on the same model, q7 being one of those variations

i had similar problems when i got my box. i emailed the seller of my box on amazon and they sent me a link to the original stock firmware. might be worth trying
