    After turning TV on - resolution is messed up.

    Hi,

    After recently upgrading to 1.8 on my Vega (Thanks, by the way) + 720p patcher (due to released xbmc version and my old LG TV) I've noticed that once i turn the TV off, upon turning it on I have a corrupted video output, as if the screen is scaled further down, it's not full screen.

    Not fluent on how HDMI works precisely, and who shakes whom hand upon devices turning off/on, so i can't even guess. It restores upon a reset of the box.
    Has someone seen this issue, can it be helped by patching the CPU on the box, or any other way?

    Same thing happened to me on my 720P Samsung. Went back to stock TronSmart 107k4 and all ok

      What version of xbmc (if any) you use on the stock 107, and is it showing a proper picture on 720 TV?

        Personally I don't use XMBC yet because I've just got the unit and I have a PLEX server set up, so its not too big a deal to me(Unless it is and I don't know it yet!!!).

          It might be, since to the best of my understanding, standard xbmc builds don't do 720p on this box.

            Leon, in the readme for the 720P patch I explained why this happens.
            But it looks like you have a 1080 TV so you should not need the 720P patch.

              Hi Bob,
              My TV is definitely only 720 and mine does exactly the same. Its like its displaying the screen as something like 640 X 480 in the top left hand corner and the other 3/4 of the screen is black.

              Any reason for that? I have no immediate plans to use XBMC, will it cause other problems for me without the 720 patch?

              P.S. It only happens after I apply the patch, if I unwind its OK.

                It because when you turn off the TV the box no longer knows what resolution to display and then defaults to that small display. I know this happens on a 1080P TV but did not know it also happened on the 720 TV.

                When the box powers up it reads the TV capabilities over HDMI.

                Nothing I can do about it at this time. You have to reboot the box to get it to resync.

                  Ok thanks anyway. I'll carry on without the patch and see how I get on, if it's only for XBMC I'll be ok because plex is working OK for me.

                    Thank you Bob, I missed it in the readme file, my bad.
                    The TV is definitely not 1080 (too old =) ), and it shows in xbmc. I suspected that it's sort of a handshake, when TV is turned on, that goes wrong, too bad it can't be fixed.

                      I am not saying it cant be fixed and maybe we will figure it out. Beelink is aware of the issue.
