Clicking sound when on standby.

    Clicking sound when on standby.

    I know this has been mentioned on another forum, but has anyone on here noticed a clicking noise every few minutes.

    When my N101 is on standby clicks every few minutes.
    Any way this can be stopped in the firmware?

    I have that on first keyboard press after waking up. I get one click on first key press but other than that no other clicking.

        Try going into the keyboard settings and disable keypad key press sounds

          This sounds different to my issue.

          I get clicking when the tablet is in standby.
          Happens every few minutes.

                I also hear a clicking sound every few minutes, but that is my tablet rebooting every few minutes.

                I just got it yesterday and this behavior occurs in OFW, VonDroid V3 and Bob's 1.5. Not sure what to make of it.

                Anyone else noticing rebooting while in standby?

                  Not had the rebooting issue.
                  But I may have solved the clicking

                  I'll report back later when I'm sure.

                    I keep getting clicking sound when it hapens put one of the speakers near you ear it is like the speaker sound turns on for a few seconds like a mild hiss tan it stops wtf

                      Odd, I do not have that at all!

                      Daman, in my new ROM try flashing just kernel 338 and see if oyu get that after. Note, the screen may stop working but next reboot it should work again.

                      Otherwise we wait to see what Tom has found.

                          I've cheated

                          I had a look at the files in /system/media/audio/ui and found 2 files that sounded like my clicking..

                          So I renamed them both. Since then no issue with clicking.

                          Now I need to rename one back and see which one was causing it !!

                              Interesting. I just went through those to see what I hear.
                              All of the sounds that sound like a click are either the keyboard / effect clicks OR the lock and unlock click sound. All of those I recognize and it is not like the "click" I get when I first come out of sleep and press the screen to unlock. That click is a unwanted sound that is not in the list of sounds in /system/media/ui.

                              So I think we all may have something different going on?
