That's excellent news, hope your X8-H behaves itself from now on!

In my case the box has been tested in both configurations (via AVR and direct to TV), but still gives random black screens.

Before setting up the RMA, I did some additional testing to make sure that the problem wasn't somewhere else in the chain. Turns out that the problem is my Denon AV Receiver. For whatever reason, when I route the HDMI through the Denon, I get the screen blanking issue. When I power the Denon off and let the signal pass through (which it does when powered off), the problem goes away. When I route the HDMI straight to the TV, there's also no problem.

Thanks to everyone for their help & suggestions.

I has some of these issues until I replaced the crappy boxed HDMI cable with a Bluejeans Cables HDMI cable of higher quality.

At least the crappy boxed cable isn't lighting our HDMI ports on fire like one user post shows happened with the OTG micro b cable.

      MINIX!

You need to find a better vender for your boxed cables!

I tried 2 other HDMI cables, same problem. These cables all work 100% with my other X8-H, which makes me doubt the build quality of the box.

Try a different HDMI port on your TV. Update your TV firmware if possible.

Thanks for the suggestions. However this problem happens irrespective of which HDMI port on the TV we use, or via an AV receiver and also with 2 different TV models. The 2nd X8-H which we bought at the same time, works fine 100% of the time.

This happened to me too but works fine with 1920X1080i so I left it this way.
