Replacement UK charger

As we all know the travel chargers for these tablets are not the best of quality so I have found a replacement one for the UK that is a proper dedicated 3pin charger

It is because my phone screen is so small I have a Sony xperia mini pro and the screen is tiny so tapatalk is easier to read the forum. If I read the forum on my phone screen on the browser it is tiny.

I blame dodgy tapatalk lol

It won't even let of put a UK pound sign it comes up with a jumbled up load of numbers and than if I edit posts as you know Bob it breaks links.

Think I need to man up and get a big phone screen. It is kind of hard to fit my Yuandao tablet in my back pocket lol

Anyway you can all poke at me I have a great dry sense of humour

I've been lurking for a while now and was thinking that my first post would exclusively be a thank you to you guys; Finless and Damo for all your hard work in development of ROMs and helpful info on all things to do with this tab.....Big thank you for that!

Sadly I do have a negative issue to add to this post as I'm having major problems with my tab; but I'm hoping you might be able to help.

I bought an N101 which arrived earlier in the week which initially had 2hrs charge. Since then when I have tried to give it a full charge; at first it would show the charge symbol, but then cut out after 5-10secs and not switch on again. Right now; I cannot even get it to switch on and do not know if it is charging or not. It has been on charge for nearly six hours now.

I have tried 2x UK three pin adapters for the supplied two pin charger AND 3x 5V 2A chargers; my most recent is the one linked above.

Is there anything else I can try or have I received a dud tab; was wondering if my tab had just gone into deep sleep and I was missing something obvious.

Any ideas much welcomed!

Have you managed to install the drivers for flashing a Rom?

If not try bobs latest 1.6 Rom wo see if this solves anything

Hey Damo;
no to be honest this is effectively my first charge; I was waiting to fully charge the battery to 100% before flashing 1.6.

I received the tab on Tues and thought maybe I had a duff supplied charger; so I popped out to B+Q to buy one of theirs to try on the Weds; no luck, returned and refunded, then headed out to Maplins - same thing happened - now both of these pins seemed fractionally loose even though they stated and looked to be the right size; so I ordered the one above to get a perfect fit; which arrived today and now tab wont even switch on.

My thought is that the supplied charge drained out and now battery is empty and not charging or tab screen is in deep sleep; but for some reason wont come on.

Right now I can't do anything with it; no flashing; not even a look into the settings panel.

So I presume when you plug your adaptor in the tab does not auto switch on. Sounds like a hardware prob. In the charger hold can you see the physical pin inside?

It's weird because the first times I tried with the supplied adapter and the B + M ones it did recognise them and auto switch on and the charging symbol came up; but then 5-10secs later; screen would switch off and nothing would get it back.

But on subsequent attempts; nothing; really bizarre.

I can see a physical pin which seems centred correctly and the new charger does seem to engage with it easily; I didn't check this with the others, but this charger makes a slight clicking sound at the connection pin when 'charging'; I'm not really sure if that's standard though?

Yeah man; think you're right. I've got just under two days before my dispute period expires, so will probably open that tomorrow.

If anything turns up before then I'll give it a shot; but otherwise, y'know 9-12 months with return, repair and turnaround to and from China; then I'll probably flash Bob's 8.7 ROM when I get my tab back!!

I bought this charger from **** UK but it just won't charge my tablet (N101-1, although the tablet does show the 'charging' icon so it clearly knows something is plugged in).

I tested the output at a steady 5.31V whereas the charger that came with the tablet (from Elijah) is a steady 5.16V. Could 5.31V be too high for the tablet's inbuilt voltage protection?

Damn. Seems like GBP 9.20 down the pan

Anyone else had any joy with this model of charger (or ones that output at around the same voltage)?

Thanks Damo, that's exactly the same as mine from the same seller, so I assume they output the same voltage.

Perhaps there's something odd about the plug in my tablet... I'll keep playing to see if I canisolate what it is.
