Tried to reboot to recovery several times now and every time it has factory reset the box. I have followed the installation instructions and everything else seems OK.

Do you still have the SD card inserted with the beta image on it? I think that would make it re-install the rom when trying to reboot into recovery which would look like it reset to factory standard.

Thanks Cardiac. I did have the zip files on the SD card. Removed them and it is now booting to recovery.

Don't have sdcard, I have usb drive ... & unfortunately I don't have a mouse at the moment. can I possibly use a flash tool for this? Any steps to help make this work here will be dearly appreciated.

A usb thumb drive won't work, and you can't flash the zip. You can, however, sideload the zip via adb.

To be honest go get a flash card and a mouse. Your going to need them later. I could make this flashable via USB and the flash tool but most don't want that and I don't want to spend the time.

Just a recommendation for the future.

I have seen other roms with a flash tool but I'm guessing you would have to revamp each time you release a rom.

I just got a U-m8 so I'm gonna get what I need and hopefully all will go well. I see 1.8 is latest for this free device, is that what you suggest?

My 1.8 tweaker is not a full ROM so you have to flash the stock 007 ROM first then use my tweaker on it. There is both a ZIP and a USB flash tool version available for the stock 007 ROM.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I understand that xbox 360 driver is incorporated into your tweaks? Is this Plug&Play or is there any special procedure for connecting it?

You can't run it from a USB thumb drive. You can sideload the zip file using adb, but it's much easier to buy an inexpensive sd card off of Amazon and update that way.

To update via adb, boot your x8 into recovery mode, search for and install the universal adb drivers on your pc, download the mini-sdk from here, use your remote control to select "load from adb", connect your PC to your x8 using the OTG cable, and then run the following commands from where ever you extracted the mini-sdk to

adb shell
adb sideload filename.zip

Then select to reboot your x8.
