Packaging
The packaging is a generic OEM box, the contents are well secured and included is:
* US Charger with UK converter (although it's the worlds shortest cable length, maybe 40cm...)
* Micro USB to USB cable
* USB to PC cable
* Screen protector
* N101 II
* "Instructions"
The tablet itself
It looks and feels like a solid piece of kit, although so does the older version. I have compared both and the weight is pretty much the same, the N101 II seems to have better distribution as well as a slightly thicker rim on the front which makes it easier to hold.
The back plate is made from metal and nicely rounded and has the logo printed in the centre. There is a plastic flap with rubber hooks (meaning it's not easy to break it off) hiding the reset button, HDMI, USB and SD slot. The SD cards must be inserted upside down, which is an odd choice, but works.
There is a slim orange coloured rim all the way around the device between the screen and the back plate.
Screen
The screen shows better colours and brightness compared to the previous version. There is NO screen bleed at all, I have tried a totally black screen with full brightness - In my opinion it is easily comparable to the quality of an Transformer or Nexus 7 screen, maybe a little brighter. The whites on the screen are pure white unlike the yellow tinted Nexus.
Battery
I haven't tested out the battery yet fully. The tablet came with 60% charge and took around an hour to get up to 100%. The 12V charger does appear to make a difference.
edit: after leaving on standby for 6 hours with wifi on, it's at 99% left. I did use it for about 45 mins as well.
THE SPEAKER
This is a point I am sure many will be interrested in reading. I admit that I was dubious about the claims of 'more stereo' sound from a mono speaker, however I can see the reasoning behind this and I think a lot may have been missed with translation. The sound is not quite as good as the original N101, however it's very impressive with great bass and clarity. I have compared it to phones and other tablets that I own and it wins. It's loud and easy to hear when trying to watch a TV show or film.
Games
Gameplay is the same as the N101 - smooth for all Gameloft, EA and Rockstar games.
WIFI
I think, although I am not sure, that Yuandao have decided to place the WIFI antenna somewhere near the plastic flap. There is certainly much improved WIFI range. The tablet managed to find 9 points to connect to compared to the N101 which only found 3. Speed is also impressive and has managed to reach around 90Mbps (I have 120Mbps internet).
SD
There are no longer problems with dismounting and remounting the external SD - fixed!
Camera
The cameras are still crap, but anyone expecting a decent camera on a tablet is an idiot. Buy a DSLR.
Software/Android Version
The tablet comes with Android 4.0.4 and a confused bootscreen. There is a picture of the Android man with the gingerbread logo over the top and Android 4.0 written below. The boot animation is the same as the original N101 (with the Chinese writing). There is also a new Kernel:
Kernel version

Play comes pre-installed and there is absolutely NO Chinese software on there at all. There is also no GO Launcher, it's pretty much all stock Android stuff with a few additions such as the Rockchip file browser etc.
Fixed
So far I have noticed that there is:
* No screen bleed (as mentioned)
* No annoying semi-click sound some have reported and I noticed on the N101
* Smoother performance
* Max Payne now works
Overall Impression
I followed the threads on here (VonDroid), SlateDroid and Freaktab regarding the N101 II. I saw rumours, stories of people take lawsuits out and all sorts of translated Chinese speculation. After actually using the device, if only for a couple of hours so far, I can say that I am very impressed. There is no 100% proof that this is a real device, however considering it came from Elijah and the build quality is excellent I doubt it's a clone/fake. Even if it turns out to be a fake I would be happy to buy it again.
