Docking Station question for all the Polaroid owners...

Thinking about buying my daughter a Docking station for her Polaroid tablet for Christmas (yes I think THAT far ahead, hehe) and wanted to know if anyone's found a good one that would hold it (kind of like ones for those Apple products ) and if so, perhaps where I could find one.

    Thanks guys!

Yikes! I see 31 views and no responses-I take it no one's found anything (and/or thought of this)?

To the best of my knowledge there are no true Polaroid docking stations. There have been several threads discussing various cases, many of which have integrated keyboards, that have been tried but that is about it. The main reason that Apple products have the docking stations out there is because they have a large standardized connector that has many of the needed signals routed to specific points on it. With the various Polaroid tablets there is no single connector that will do the trick, each of the I/O ports enter and exit through standard ports for that type of device (Eg.USB, earphone and video). Now with good measurements you could possibly build one yourself that it would slip into, but again to the best of my knowledge a pre-built one for all of the AV options does not exist.

I have found no way to use a keyboard and charge the tablet at the same time through the USB connection. the KB cases do work though. you could try a USB KB or wireless USB KB if you have one handy from a PC, tho it might drain the battery quicker which brings me back to the first point.
        good luck.

Perhaps not for all the AV options, however I've found 'close' ones so far (Ex. physically fits but has micro-USB vs. Mini-USB, etc.)....

I'm not much of a software hacker, but perhaps I'll find something and do some 'hardware' hacking.... :-)

I'm not actually looking for a K/B connector, I'm referring to a 'docking station' with speakers.

I picked up an outboard powered stereo speaker to use with mine, its rechargeable and connects to the headphone jack. I'm sure there are many that will work that way, but not thru the usb. I'm not sure there are drivers in the tablet that would support audio thru usb.

I'm assuming yours isn't a 'dock' per say.....I've seen lots of speakers but was actually looking for a dock....

silly me, thinking dock= keyboard docking unit.
at the price of this one, I would rather build my own. or use my htpc.
