I wouldn't put the "random reboots" in the category of flaws/bugs, that's simply bad QC from the manufacturer, something totally unacceptable from a consumer point of view.

I had random reboots and trust me mate,

What would you do if you just bought a genuine Galaxy S4 from your local cellular company (the official big ones like Vodafone/Verizon/......)

And it will not make calls ?

This is ridiculous to sell something like this, in this state.

Imagine i am the phone company customer service and now i tell you: lookup on YouTube, some people also complained, dig in there maybe you will find an answer.

This is like a new TV that won't turn on.

It's not a complaint something is not nice, don't like the color blah blah, just being a spoiled kid,

This is basic functionality, "thank god" there is a solution (and it came not from the official company)

This is just that they wanted to sell, just to create Buzz and sell you, as much as possible, to make money compared to their competition, and giving a product in an eeeaarly beta stages and tell you, now that you paid, you can wait....maybe forever....

it is Ugly to receive a product in such a condition ! again, the solution came, NOT thanks to the home company.

Re: Stop Complainin - And put in an effort.

It's not users (customers) responsability to make efforts to help to fix bugs.

The Minix X8-H is a finished product, not a developer product like the ones that Google give away every year in Google I/O.

As the device is advertised as a finished product people bought it expecting to be able to perform the advertised tasks without issues. When they receive it and they use it some of them (more than a few) realise that the performance is somehow dissapointing.
Therefore they complain because they paid for something that doesn't work as expected and advertised.

It happens every day with any kind of products when the performance doesn't match the expectatives generated by the manufacturer.

I honestly don't think it's right to blame on users for not helping to fix something that should have been fixed by the manufacturer before they started selling units.

If i'm not mistaken, the Minix 7 was with Rockchip 3188, which was maybe less buggy generally, even in other devices, I have the T-R42 with the same Rockchip 3188 and he is fine also, more than fine.

Maybe Amlogic 802 hardware/chipset is more difficult to begin with and we are "shooting the messenger"
but as paying customers we "buy" the right to receive a working product, and not being patient and understanding..... (even though we are, it is not like that in other types of products we buy - you will not buy and eat bad food at a restaurant because the cook was not feeling well today....)

I spent around 110 British pounds, but I won't wait... I don't have enough time to be checking forums to see if there is an update or trying to fix things by myself.

I rather sell it for 80 (I'd lose 30) and spend more money if necessary on something that works with 0 issues.

Did you get rid of the soft-reboots ?

Now, after I did what is necessary in order to get rid of them, the device is working great !

Works great for me to running 007 with Finless Tweak and Xbmc downloaded from XBMC because the minix version reboots my computer if i use alt-tab to change between programs some times.

Have Bluetooth keyboard + m1 mouse and ExternalHd connected to it to and a Xbox 360 gamepad thats working great.

I didn't understand, you are using XBMC "regular" version because the Minix version was causing your Minix to reboot ?

                        You wrote "reboots my computer"....
