Android TV Player that works right out of the box

    Hi everyone,
I am new to this area and unfortunately not advanced yet to deal with ROMs, flashing and all other Android specific technical details.
But I do like Android a lot and currently own Minix Neo X4 Android dongle which utilized for watching shows on big screen tv.
That device works great but due to its technical specs performs somewhat slow, taking time to buffer and movies are played chopped at times. Another issue is the sound. No matter what I have tried, it’s only goes to certain level and not any further. Therefore, I was thinking to buy Minix X8 or (X8-H) or Tronsmart Vega S89. I am looking for an advice that helps me to select between these two.
I understand there is no perfect solution but I like to get one to kind of work decent right out of the box if that even possible.
Thank you in advance to all who replied.

    Hi and welcome

    Well..
my advice would be to wait..
    -for the holiday bargains
-for these devices (S802/805/812/rk3288) to mature
Both device currenty.. do not work out-of-the-box (sadly, the need some tweaking to work properly)

    alternatively
There are however some stores that do the tweaking for you.. for a price

    anyway.. just my 2cents

    goodluck

A turn key system would be Roko 3 and amazon Fire TV. All these off market android TV dongles and sticks need tweaking. If your into flashing and tweaking then this is the place. If you want a plug and play for your wife, kids, family, or friends that have no idea how to work with XBMC ect.. then look to a more main stream device. I like tweaking but it comes at a cost of your time and testing and tweaking. Even then they are not perfect and have many bugs.

I like to download apps from play store or install apk. I wouldn't believe that Roku or Fire TV would let me do that. I have Minix neo g4 now that worked outside of the box. I've installed number of apps on it with no problems.
It just can be slow at times and that one has only 1 GB of memory and dual core processor. So I though that upgrade to quad core and more memory should do the job.

Ya sure, a quad core would help on the sluggish side. But like I said most all these sticks and boxes have some sort of issues. Pick one that has the most roms and support. I would stay away form newly released products that have tons of hidden issues waiting to be fixed. Also keep in mind the new official google supported "Android TV" boxes will be released later this year. Then we will see better support from big name companies. Better support, less bugs and more features.
